Already having decided to find out things about Lucas before asking to meet him in person, April opened up her skype account and called Nev and Max. The two men appeared on her computer screen, one with a camera in hand, recording everything.

"Hey April." The two waved into the camera as they greeted her in unison.

She smiled nervously in return. "Hello."

"First of all," Nev began, "Do you mind if we record this? Your story sounds very interesting and we thought it would be good to include in our show. You are welcome to say no if you don't agree. We don't want to make you uncomfortable." He informed me with a polite smile.

April shook her head. "I don't mind. All I want is to meet Lucas."

The two looked at each other with suspicious looks on their faces and suddenly, April feared the worst. She opened her mouth to ask a question, but Nev beat her to it. "So April," He said, "Based on the name you gave us, we did a little research. And we found that there is a nineteen year old footballer named Lucas dos Santos. This boy is Brazilian through his parents, but he doesn't play in Spain. He plays in Germany and apparently aspires to play for the national team of Peru, which is the country of his birth."

"But is he my Lucas?" She asked.

"It could be him." Nev said, but he seemed unsure. "We have tried to contact him over facebook. But we'll let you know how that goes. Still, we'll continue our search. Once we gather enough information, we'd like to meet with you in person."

"That might have to happen in Brazil." She informed them, hoping it wouldn't hurt her chances of them helping her.

"Oh, you're traveling?" Max smiled at her.

April nodded. "My sisters and I are going to watch the World Cup. And I was hoping to find out if Lucas is really who he says he is before asking to meet him."

"Well you give us the details and we'll meet you there." Nev said. "Meanwhile we'll see what we can dig up about Lucas."

"Thank you so much." April smiled.

The two men on her computer screen waved goobye and then they ended the skype call.

Neymar felt uneasy as the days passed and the beginning of the World Cup was close to starting. He knew he wouldn't be able to keep his secret from her much longer.

And he knew there was something she wasn't telling him. Lately, he noticed, she had been distant with him. Her messages became short and vague. If he hadn't known better, he would have thought she was onto him.

He knew it was time to tell her everything.

But every time he tried, he always ended up making excuses to himself. Always avoiding telling her who he really was.

He didn't want to lose her, but he knew the longer he kept his secret, the more likely he was to lose April. The guilt was so much that it ate ate him all day, especially at night. It was so much that he couldn't even concentrate during the preparation match against Panama. The only reason he had been able to score a goal was because at the twenty-sixth minute a diagonal pass to him from Oscar had hit him in the face in a certain way that angled the ball just enough to find the net.

The team celebrated the goal as if he had intended to get it past the goal line, but Oscar, from the other end of the field made hand signs to Neymar, asking him what was wrong. Neymar only shook his head and shrugged.

April had to wait a few more days before she heard from Nev and Maz once more. The moment they appeared on her computer screen, April blurted out. "Did you find out about Lucas? Is he my Lucas? Talk, dammit!"

"Relax, April." Nev shot her an amused smile.

Going red in the face with embarrassment, she muttered. "Sorry. I'm just so nervous. My sisters and I will be going to Brazil this weekend and I don't know if I should tell Lucas yet."

"It took us a bit longer than expected, but we finally recieved a response from Lucas, the footballer who is currently residing in Germany. We explained to him who we were and he was very cooperative." He explained. "The bottom line is we don't think he's the boy who's been talking to you. He seemed very honest and when we asked if he knew a girl named April, he said he didn't."

April sighed, her face dropping into a frown. "Oh no..."

"We won't discard him as a possiblity." Nev assured her. "But then you sent us a picture of Lucas and that was our next point of research."

With a hopeful gleam in her eyes once more, she asked. "Did that work?"

They both nodded slowly. This time Max was the one to speak. "We placed the picture into google images and a bunch of photos of the same guy popped up. Nev and I were sure we were probably onto something with this. We read some articles, gathered some information..."

"But?" April insisted.

"We don't know how to break it to you easily." Nev's face contorted into a look of hesitance.

"Just say it." She urged.

Taking a deep breath, Nev finally let the words out. "The name of the boy in the photos isn't Lucas." He told her and she instantly felt her heart drop. "By the information we gathered, we found that his real name is Giovani dos Santos."
