Why cant i just know?

Lotors POV

As Ezor walks off pulling Acxa along i just stand there in front of the group Zethrid standing behind me silently. All i could think to say was "well i guess i will see you later newbie", I say in the new kids direction winking at him and walking off. I notice Zethrid takes one more look at the group of weirdos and soon follows me.

No ones POV

As Lotor walks off sighs of relief shoot around the table and of friends and Keith lets out a breath he never knew he was holding, "man that was awkward am I right Lance?" Hunk speaks up startling the others a little because he had been so quiet up until then. "Hmm...oh y-yeah *nervous giggling*" Lance stutters out looking dazed. "Soooo....is anyone gonna tell me who those people were and why they seemed to have a grudge on you guys or not?" Keith finally speaking up and looking between the others with a confused yet curious look. "Oh yeah, sorry. Those guys are known around the school as 'the galra', the three girls were Ezor the one with the colourful ponytail, Acza her girlfriend and Zethrid she was standing behind Lotor the guy. They are SUUUUPER picky on who they become friends with and dont like us very much, which is a good thing cause we dont like them." Pidge explained as best she could Keith taking in every ounce of information he could all the while glancing over to the boy who sat across Pidge, until "Keith...KEITH!....are you even listening anymore?" Pidge broke through his daze noticing the way he was glancing at Lance a smirk spreading across her lips. "So Keith~ do you have a girlfriend?" She asked leaning on her elbow to face the male. "No i dont and..... im....actually gay" Pidges smirk only grew wider as she looked over to Lance and back to Keith who was oblivious of what was coming "well~ do you have a crush on anyone?" "W-what...*nervous giggling* ummm......i-i dont know...maybe" he responded obviously flustered. This only made Pidge internally scream as she saw Keiths face turn to a slight red "you know~ Lance is single AND ready to mingle". "PIDGE!?" Lance exclaimed as he glared at the smol child - face lighting up from the embarrassment - Lance looked at the ground trying to distract himself but in the process becoming even more flustered. "I-i dont even like guys....maybe" he whispered the last word hoping no one would notice.

It was now the end of the day and Lance was walking home as usual, he would usually talk to Keith but he just needed to think so he put his light blue headphones on his head listening to 'king by Lauren Aquilina'. The lyrics flowed through his thoughts reminding him how strong he was and no matter what happens he 'can be king again'. He started to humm after a short while and eventually ended up singing the lyrics and a melodic, soft tone in his voice. "Put all your faults to bed....you can be king again~"he finished finally looking back to see the violet eyes of Keith looking at him with wonder and curiosity - kind of how a child looks up to their hero - his eyes were shining with the hot sun. All he could bring himself to say was "wow....i didnt know you could sing, why didnt you tell me?" He walked closer to Lance as he flinched a little taking his headphones off and stopping letting Keith catch up so they could walk side-by-side, "huh..oh i guess it never came up i usually only sing for my younger cousins when they come over to visit, i love seeing the wonder and amusment in their eyes it nice" he responded looking around still thinking about what happened earlier that day. Keith just smiles softly and says goodbye to the boy before running inside his house to escape the heat.

A few minutes later

After running inside and saying hello to his mama he ran up stairs and just plonked his bag down, flopping onto his bed and groaning into his pillow on his face. He turns over to look at the ceiling. 'Why does Pidge have to bring up my sexuality? She knows im not comfortable with it yet ugh. Why does life have to be so hard? I mean everyone else around me just assumes im straight but im not sure. Like yeah i do feel attraction towards girls but once i did somewhat feel attracted to a guy, why cant i just know? Huh why do i have to go through finding myself again and again?' *muffled screams* Lance eventually falls into a deep sleep cursing what tomorrow may bring.

Authors notes: i think this might be my longest chapter yet anyway. I really wanted to make this chapter especially since some of the characters like Pidge and Lance kind of go through what i go through. Like how Pidge is genderfluid i really wanted to put that in there because i am myself and Lance struggling with his sexuality is also me, so yeah also i was trying to be unique i hope it turned out well. Ok im gonna shut up now i might see you next time bye 😸
