Before I tell you

What became of

My short lived baby brother

Let me tell you a little

About who he was,

Or atleast

Who he was turning out to be.

Matthew Nathaniel Cord.

Straight black hair and bright baby blue eyes

Full of hope,

And I loved how his eyes lit up when he smiled.

He was just starting to talk and walk,

Starting to come into his own personality.

He painted.

he hummed.

He laughed.

Then one day

The curious five year old

Named Matthew,

Found Daddy's toy.

A shotgun.

Matthew wanted to play

Like Daddy did.

He aimed it like Daddy did,

He leaned against a tree

Because the gun was too heavy.

He pulled the trigger,

The aftershock caused his head

To whiplash against the tree.

Immediatly

Matty's mind went blank.

He felt hot liquid run down the back

Of his neck: Blood.

He heard someone shouting his name: Mama.

He heard someone screaming: Me.

Then he slipped into the big black.

Matty never woke up again.
