It was a typical day. Grace opened her eyes and grinned at the sleeping Alexander. His face was buried in her hair as his arms lovingly held her. She saw the ups and downs of his chest. She gently released his grip after kissing his cheeks.
She noticed her eyes were no longer lifeless and dreary when she glanced at herself in the mirror after waking up. They appear so alive right now. She regained her sense of self. She suddenly became aware of the scar from her past on her stomach. She gently stroked it as she closed her eyes. She snapped away from memories that came to her like a whiplash.
She showered and dressed thereafter. She glanced at Alexzander once more, wondering if was too exhausted to hold him responsible. He was exhausted from last night's events. The previous night's activities made Grace flush; they were pure ecstasy.
She brushed her worries aside and sent him a message letting him know she would be getting them some coffee and Chinese from a neighboring restaurant. Sebastian said goodbye as she drove to a neighboring café.
She heard a voice as she was holding out for the command. Too common. While she was waiting for the order, she heard a very familiar voice. Too familiar.
"I told you, you are fired. You had one job, and you couldn't do it." Said the very familiar voice.
Grace felt her blood run cold, never in a million years, she thought, that she would meet him like this. She was not ready.
"Order for Grace is ready." yelled the waitress. Grace immediately rushed towards the aisle and took out the cash and hurriedly went out of the café.
"Hey, here is change." again yelled the waitress.
"You can keep the change," she murmured to herself.
Grace was just about to open the car door, when she heard the voice she dreaded all these years.
"Grace, is that you?"
