if hyunjin thought shoving his mouth with ice cream was the best way to get rid of his feelings for changbin. then it was.
due to it being two a.m, hyunjin took this opportunity to treat himself. he deserved it, hell yeah he did. not only ice cream but some love too. so as he watches spongebob without a care because he needed a little laugh.
he thinks he's a alone until he hears footsteps. they're getting louder and once he realizes it's one of the boys who are up. he doesn't recognize him at all. he thought he remembered everyone but 'everyone' meant sunwoo, eric and hwall.
"you really took the whole tub for yourself?" hyunjae asks clicking his tongue, he crosses his arms with his spoon in his hand. hyunjin who has a mouthful of ice cream pouts out of guilt. "don't feel bad, you having a bad start of the day? or is it something else?"
hyunjin swallows his ice cream shortly, "boy problems..it's something I really shouldn't worry about but I just am.."
"tell me about it." hyunjae groans, he rolls his eyes almost to where they stay rolled back. "you know being in a kpop group is hard, you're shipped with people just for fun. but the fans don't know what we really feel towards that person."
"yeah. I get you—"
"hyunjae. and I believe you're hyunjin."
hyunjin nods, "yeah, that's me. but why are you up so early? could you not sleep?"
hyunjae shakes his head, plopping down on the couch next to hyunjin. "same as you, problems with a guy."
"who?"
"you could say it's hwall. but ever since our move here we kinda have been distant." hyunjae explains, "maybe it's because he's finding new people to socialize with. he's not much of a talker if you can tell. you're a 00' liner correct? so you must share a room with him."
"yeah, he shares the top bunk with felix. whenever we engage in conversations he'll say one word or shrug as a response. I don't mind but he should put some effort."
"I get that, but it's just the way he is." hyunjae digs his spoon into the tub of ice cream, "he's just him. which I like. he doesn't care if people think he's quite or shy, whether if his duality is big. it kinda sucks that we haven't talked in a while."
"I kinda like this guy..but my best friend and fellow member likes him too..like a lot! like my interest in him makes it seem as if it's just mutual. and I don't know if I like him because he gives me attention and all that, or because I like him for him.."
hyunjae purses his lips, "that's quite interesting. you seem quite hesitant when you talk about this."
hyunjin nods, "I do. but whenever I fight with felix, aka the boy who's like totally love sick for the boy. words just flow from my mouth and obviously I don't think before I say. it just feels like a competition that I shouldn't even be in."
"well we have to get one thing straight, do you like him?"
hyunjin shrugs, he has mixed feelings when it comes to changbin and it sucks. "I don't know.."
"you know I don't know is what I wanted to hear right?"
the younger cracks an awkward smile, "sorry.."
"no worries. just tell me anything. I'll be here to listen." hyunjae reassures.
"what about your problems? shouldn't you rant too?"
hyunjae shakes his head, "I'm mature enough to figure it out myself. I know I'll be okay, but youngsters shouldn't hold in their feelings or one day they'll just snap. you know why I know that? because I've been through it many times. even now, I shouldn't even say youngsters. everyone experiences it."
"you must've experienced a lot then."
the brunette smiles, "sure, you could say that."
hyunjin smiles back, "it's just I don't know what to do.." he then let's his spoon rest in the tub of ice cream. "messing with felix and making him jealous cause of changbin and I is fun and all. but, I'm realizing now I'm not into changbin the way felix is into him."
"you already said something about attention. maybe you just like being around him. it doesn't have to be in a romantic way. platonic id say."
"what's that?" hyunjin questions.
"how would I say this, you guys are just naturally affectionate towards each other. it's not sexual or anything to do with lust or romantic feelings. it's more of a pure, friendship feeling."
"so..it's platonic between changbin and I."
"if you want to describe it that way then yeah." hyunjae states, he ruffles hyunjin's hair. "look kid, there are literally twenty other boys in this dorm that might be waiting for you."
"but..."
"but what?"
"I don't know, what if I don't find someone?"
hyunjae snorts, "seriously? just looking at you anyone would want to have you as their boyfriend, you have a mellow personality and I enjoy talking to someone who won't yell at me."
"do your members yell at you?"
"no, I yell at them."
"that's not really nice, but cool I guess." as hyunjin giggles, hyunjae then shushes him.
"see watch this." hyunjae cups his hands next to his mouth for his voice to become louder. he then shouts, "MWOHASAEYO!"
waiting a couple seconds, hyunjae points to the first and second room.
"HYUNJAE SHUT THE FUCK UP!"
