[scarlett]

...

I wake up the next morning with a killer headache, and nervousness on my mind. I look around my new room, at the new walls, and unfamiliar floors and ceilings. I stand up from the warmth of my bed and look at the clock. I have about thirty minutes to get ready, which is pretty good considering I used to be late to school 75% of the time.

Trying to ignore the headache, i walk to my closet and pull out a pair of skinny jeans, a sweater and my vans, and get dressed quickly, not wanting to be late even if I have plenty of time. I walk to the bathroom, and plug in my straightener, and begin to straighten the brown mop on my head. Luckily, my hair wants to cooperate, and it straightens pretty easy. I don't bother putting on makeup because I don't think it helps my appearance at all, so I walk out of the bathroom, and get all my stuff ready.

I grab my bag, and my phone, and head out of my door. I hurry down the stairs to see my brother eating breakfast, and my mom standing in the kitchen.

I walk over and steal a piece of bacon off of my brothers plate, and he tries to smack my hand away which doesn't work.

My mother rolls her eyes at us before asking, "Scar will you please take the car today?" She starts. I do a victory dance in my mind before she finishes the sentence. "To take your brother to school?"

"Ugh but Mom cant be just ride the bus!" I argue, not wanting to drive him to school.

"Just please do this one thing without arguing," she says annoyed.

"Fine." I give in. "Eathan grab your bag and let's go,"

He obeys, and I grab the keys off the kitchen counter, and walk into the cold morning air. I drag myself to the car. I turn on the heat, as my brother begins to mess with the radio, pushing random buttons.

"Stop it! You're gonna break it!" I scold him like the child he is.

I know he's not gonna break it but I need am excuse to yell at him.

"Do you remember where your school is?" I ask him.

Due to the look on his face I'm guessing he doesn't.

"Eathan!" I yell. I grab my phone and call my mom to ask her where the school is. She gives me the directions and I notice that I only have ten minutes to get Eathan to school, and get myself to school.

I speed to his school, and drop him off, wishing him luck on his first day. I race away from his school and make it to mine just in time. I lock the car, and run inside. I look at my schedule and see my first class is english room 202.

I run to the room just before the bell rings. The teacher is sitting his desk, and he, along with the rest of the class looks up at me.

"Ohh class I forgot to mention that we have a new student joining us today! She's from America!" He says with excitement. I roll my eyes at his enthusiasm about me being from America.

I look around the room at the kids, and see your normal situation; the popular kids on one side, the nerdy, not popular kids on the other. Then you just have your normal people, like me, in the middle, just minding their own business.

My eyes stop on a boy in the middle back, that has his hair dyed a strange color of purple, black skinny jeans, and a Nirvana shirt on. I really hope he isn't one of those people that just wears a bands shirt, but doesn't actually like them.

I notice that the boy, keeps looking at me himself, taking in every detail like I was to him. I smile at him, but he doesn't smile back.

Well then.
