Empty Barrels of Liquor

Your laughter was like sweet wine.
You smelled of burning mosquito coils.
You had a tragic story to tell.
A Korean drama, with a love triangle.

Your laughter was like vodka.
Smooth as it goes down but leaves you happy and silly.
You smelled like the air after the rain.
The Fresh Prince , the Playboy.

Your laughter was like beer.
A bitter but acquired taste.
You smelled like sweat and fresh grass.
You took away the mental innocence in me.

Your laughter was like Mauby.
You were both bitter and sweet.
You smelled of sharp men's Cologne.
You spoke the words of loyalty.

Your laughter was like soda.
You were bubbly and became flat after some time.
You smelled like salt in the warm air.
You felt strong and you hated stronger.

Your laughter was like champagne.
You were rare and expensive.
You smelled like newly bought clothes.
You were like the Teddy I slept with at night.

So many barrels and bottles.
Of simple and exotic drinks.
Alcohol that makes you tipsy.
Sweet drinks that makes you hyper.

Now I face empty barrels which held liquor.
I'm hungover, missing the joy of laughter.
I'm thirsty, what I need is water.
I come crashing down from my high.

Oh how I miss it all.
Oh how I miss you all.
Oh how I miss me.
Oh how I miss you.

I line up the empty bottles,
The plastic cups and hollow barrels.
Line them up to smile at the past.
A silent memory that would forever last.
