I was sleeping in my bed when I was awakened by the sound of knocking on glass. I rolled over to check the time, it was 3:27 am.
The knocking sound happened again. At first, I thought it was coming from my window. Curious, I climbed out of my bed to figure out who or what was knocking on my window, but there was nothing there.
The sound happened a third time, this time louder and it was coming from behind me on the other side of my room. I turned around to look at my mirror, the knocking was coming from the mirror. Walking over to it, I could see my reflection moving, the darkness of my room making me look like a shadow. Suddenly I noticed there was something else that looked like a black mass, in the mirror behind me. I leaned in close to the mirror trying to get my eyes to focus on the shadow so that I could figure out what object in my room was making the second shadow. I turned and glanced around my room, realizing that the shadow was placed in an area in my room that was empty. There shouldn't be anything there to reflect in the mirror.
The knocking happened a fourth time. The shadow began moving, pacing back and forth as if it were waiting for something.
The knocking occurred once again, that's five times now. The shadow began shaping itself. It grew in length, then abnormally long limbs formed. While on all fours the creature crawled up to the mirror so that it was just on the other side, replacing my own reflection. It had no eyes, just an entirely, blacked out face.
The clock struck 3:33 am and the knocking sounded for the sixth time. An eerie grin spread across the creature's face. Its white, razor teeth shinning bright against its dark color. Frozen I terror, I stood staring at the creature. Suddenly the glass of the mirror burst, sending shards of glass flying into my room. A few of the shards embedded themselves into my body, I yelped in pain.
Although the mirror was shattered, the creature was still crouched in front of me. I screamed as the creature lunged for me and tackled me to the floor. Using one hand, it wrapped it's incredibly long fingers around my wrists, holding my hands above my head while the creature pinned me to the ground.
Leaning down so that its face was only inches from mine, I could smell the creature's breath. It was a horrific smell, the smell of death and decay. I squirmed underneath the creature but that didn't faze it at all as it took its free hand and thrusted it into my chest.
In that moment I woke up gasping for air. I calmed down when I realized that it was all just a nightmare.
Then I heard a knock.
I glanced at the clock next to my bed.
It was 3:27 am.
