Pete, Patrick, Joe, and Andy. The main four members of The Chicago Vampire Hunters, now unable to actively help in the battle against the rogue vampire gangs prowling throughout the streets of Chicago. It's a month after their plan backfired, Pete lay awake in the prison cell he shared with his partners, unable to get comfortable on the thin mattress provided by the prison staff. He stared up at the concrete slab above him which housed the mattress Patrick was sitting on. It was night time. Pete and Patrick hadn't gotten much sleep since they'd arrived in prison. However, Andy and Joe seemed to be just fine when it came to getting sleep. Pete's bloodlust filled hunger that came with being a vampire hadn't been satisfied in a long time, he was against feeding off the life force of a living being, whether that be a human or otherwise. He knew what it was like to be imprisoned in an immortal body, it hurt, emotionally more than physically. Pete closed his eyes and exhaled a long breath of frustration and desperation.

Patrick spoke with a hushed voice, breaking the silence of the night. "I'm just as frustrated and tired as you are Pete. How are we going to get out of here? It's been a month and we still don't have a plan." He motioned to himself and the others in the prison cell. It was hard enough trying to sleep here, let alone go about everyday life. As if you could call prison life normal. Patrick stared outside the bars on the window of their cell into the night, the moon and stars glowed brightly in the sky as a cold breeze whistled through the bars on the window causing Patrick to shiver. There were no blankets, only the thin material of the prison uniforms they wore to shelter them from the weather. It was fall, meaning there would be a brutally cold wind that would nip at their faces when they were outside. On occasion, they would have to deal with rain and snow. Pete groaned and mumbled in response to what Patrick said a few moments ago, his frustration seemed stronger than any of the others. Patrick knew why. Pete was constantly trying his hardest to fight off the bloodlust that had clouded his thoughts since he'd arrived in prison. He'd argued with Patrick about what he should do about the problem, he'd been dealing with this for a month now and already he was tired of it. The constant cravings were a nuisance to every waking hour, every minute, and every second he spent confined behind steel bars. Patrick slid down the ladder on the side of the bunk that he shared with Pete, being careful not to make any sound as he knew that prison guards were close by. He'd been reprimanded more than once for being out of bed and talking at night. He was sure he learned how to be sly by now but the punishments that he received from the guards weren't enough to stop him from talking to his partner, best friend, and now someone he called his prison cellmate. Patrick wasn't proud of that. He winced briefly at the memories of the night he and his partners were arrested, knowing Pete was thinking the same thoughts, judging by the pained and frustrated look on his face. It was all they ever thought about since they'd been locked up here. Patrick exchanged looks with Pete as he carefully sat on the edge of Pete's bed. Patrick's expression was filled with that of worry and anguish as he gazed at the vampire laying before him on the prison cell bunk. "I-" Pete began, struggling to form words, shaking his head and covering his face with his hands in the process. "I'm so tired of fighting, it's an endless cycle and I'm just-." Pete groaned again, not bothering to finish his sentence. He rolled over on his bed, putting his back to Patrick. Patrick took that as a sign that Pete was too upset to talk. He took a deep breath and looked around the cell, watching as Andy and Joe slept before climbing back on the top bunk. He laid on his back staring at the concrete ceiling. He let out a long heavy sigh, eyeing the various cracks and grooves that had formed over the years before eventually managing to fall asleep.
