You usually only see this in movies,
But I can tell you
It's for real.
I didn't think it would happen;
Not at my school,
Not to one of my classmates.
You were supposed to graduate;
Walk across that stage
Proud of all your accomplishments,
Proud to accept your diploma,
Proud of surviving through the, supposed "best 4 years of your life."
But instead you left,
You quit.
and I wanna be mad at you
Because it doesn't make sense.
You had everything —
Including your demons
That no one knew about.
Until the news spread around school
Like an out-of-control wildfire
And the fires still burning
Even five days later.
I don't think that flame will ever burn out
Because unfortunately
Life moves on,
The sun sets,
The moon rises,
The world spins,
Whether you're in it or not.
