Let's back up a little. Maybe back to when I first met Luna. It wasn't that long ago, so it shouldn't be too hard to follow, but just in case, let me set the scene.

It was about 4 weeks ago, and it was a regular night. It was early November, so it was starting to get a little cold outside, but it wasn't too bad if you had a light jacket or something. I was home alone waiting for my parents to get home from grocery shopping so they could start dinner. I could cook myself, but why do that when you have parents who are already making dinner for 20?

Anyways, it was about 6 pm, and the sun was starting to go down. I heard my parents walk in, so I left my room and went down the stairs before having something shoved at me by my father. It wasn't long before I realized it was a living thing, despite how cold the thing was, and the surprise made me almost drop it, but I managed to hold on.

"Take her upstairs and give her a bath," my Father said to me. "We'll be up there in a second, please hurry."

I quickly nodded and started up the stairs, not entirely grasping the situation. I've never heard my father speak with such urgency, so I knew it had to be important, but I don't think I was prepared for what was happening in the slightest. I've never had to save anyones life, and I've never been in a life or death situation, so I guess you could say I've never felt pressure anything close to this.

When I reached the bathroom, I placed whatever I was holding in the tub and turned on the water. After that, I was able to get a close look at what I just brought up the stairs. It was a girl with long, silver hair and a tiny physique. She looked to be about 6 years old, but she was pretty thin, as if she hadn't eaten in days. On the top of her head were two poofy little cat ears, and even though I couldn't see it, there was a long white tail on her behind. She was wearing a paper gown, like one you would find in a doctors office, which was probably the reason she was shivering.

As the bathtub slowly started to fill with warm water, I ripped off her gown and tapped her shoulder to wake her up. She must've been exhausted, but I couldn't let her sleep in case she slid down under the water. When she finally woke up, she looked at me with weak red eyes and tried to sit up without much success.

"It's okay," I said, trying to calm her down. "You're safe here." I don't think she understood me, because she started to look and move around, definitely not calming down. After this, my mother entered the bathroom and took over for me. She told me to go downstairs and help my father with dinner. Considering the situation, I decided not to argue and obeyed, leaving to go downstairs.

About a half an hour later, dinner was ready, and my mother came down with the girl, who looked awake and a little less panicked. She was now wearing a white shirt that looked more like a nightgown on her, since it was obviously made for someone older and larger. My mother sat her down at the table and placed a plate of food in front of her, which she instantly inhaled.

I was only about a quarter of the way done with my meal by the time she finished hers, and I eat fast, so it was a huge accomplishment, especially for someone of her size.

"So... uhh..." I said, looking back at my parents, who were eating like everything was normal. "Who's our guest tonight?"

"She's one of those Genetically-Engineered children that you see on the news," my father said. "We saw her lying in an alley half dead on the way home, so we picked her up and brought her here."

"Wow," I said. "What's your name," I asked the little girl sitting across from me, who was already finished with her meal and looking around the room. The girl looked at me for a moment, before looking away again.

"She doesn't know how to talk," my father answered for her. "I think she was from that last batch that got shut down by the government, and was just released into the wild."
