                               One year later....

"Let me welcome our valedictorian, y/n   y/l/n!"

Everyone cheers as you walk up to the podium. You clear your throat, looking at the anticipating audience for your speech.

"Well... um," you stutter.
"I, I honestly could not have gone to the places and seen, or have done the things I have without the help of my loving boyfriend, Grayson Dolan. You see, I was one of the worst behaved students here at Westfield High. Until I met Grayson. He taught me in ways the teachers here couldn't, because I was so difficult to deal with but he pulled through and he helped me with everything I needed.

"I also want to give a huge thank you to my parents. I know everything wasn't the best between you two before, but you made it work. Just for me. Everyone goes through things that will make them feel... not so good. But little does everyone know, that those hard times that you are going through are putting you on the pass to greatness. As cliche as this sounds, it will get better.

"If anyone out there feels that they are not loved or can't get through something, you will because you are strong. Don't let one simple math problem or essay throw you off your game. What you want to be and your path is not determined by how popular you are, or how tough you are. Or even how good your grades are. It's just school. And yeah, it will get super hard, but you know what? We passed. And we made it! Congratulations to all of us."

You smile to the crowd as they clap loud for you as well as your classmates behind you.

"Thank you, Miss y/l/n for that wonderful speech." Your principal says.

The graduation ceremony continues, until it was time.

You grab one side of your cap and throw it in the air along with everyone else's. You see your mothers happy tears shed down her cheeks from where she was.

You smile and tear up.

I really made it

———

You walk off of the stands with Grayson's hand in yours and walk to your friends and family waiting in the bleachers, supporting you.

Your mother comes to you with tears on your face and her arms wide open in an inviting hug.

"Oh honey I'm so proud of you" your words were muffled in your curled hair.

Your dad comes up close behind her and joins in a group hug.

"Okay," you tap your moms shoulder, "I can't breathe."

"Whoops, sorry" she laughs slightly and let's go.

"So, where's the party gonna be?" You ask and your mom smirks.

"That's a surprise. For both you and Grayson" she smiles wide and you look over at Grayson. His expression mirrored yours; clueless.

(A/n) this is reallyyyyy fucking short 😂 but I'm writing more chapters at once that's why 🙂
