Y/n's POV

"A Quirk assessment test?!" We all yelled as we stood outside. I was standing next to Mina, arms folded clearly pissed off. A test? On the first day? This is just cruel.

"What about the entrance ceremony? The orientation?" The brunette asked.

"If you're going to become a hero, you don't have time for such leisurely events. U.A's selling point is how unrestricted its schools traditions are. That's also how the teachers run their classes. You kids have been doing these since junior high, too, right? Physical fitness tests where you weren't allowed to use your Quirks. The country still uses averages taken from results from other students not using their Quirks. It's not rational. Well, the Ministry of Education is procrastinating." Aziawa droned on.

"Bakugou, you finished at the top of the practical exam, right?" Aziawa turned to Bakugou, "In junior high, what was your best result for the softball throw?"

"67 meters." Bakugou stated.

"Then, try doing it with your Quirk." Aziawa instructed. Bakugou stood in the softball circle thingy and everyone stood at the side lines.

"You can do whatever you want as long as you stay in the circle. Hurry up. Give it all you've got." Aziawa said. Bakugou stretched before pulling back and throwing the ball. The ball zoomed off, being propelled by the explosion. He shouted "DIE!" which is a little concerning. I also remember Kirishima mentioning someone who kept shouting die, guess it was Bakugou.

"Know your own maximum first." Aziawa said as the ball finally started to fall to the ground. "That is the most rational way to form the foundation of a hero."

Aziawa showed us the measurement of Bakugou's throw. 750 meters. I quit. I quit! How is anyone supposed to beat that?!

"This looks fun!" Mina exclaimed as I looked at her in shock.

"Seriously?" I deadpanned. I guess using our Quirks will be fun.

"We can use our Quirks as much as we want! As expected from the hero course!" One guy with black straight hair shouted.

"'It looks fun,' huh?" Everyone froze when Aziawa spoke, "You have three years to become a hero. Will you have an attitude like that the whole time? " He stopped and smirked at us.

"All right. Whoever comes in last place in all eight tests will be judged to have no potential and will be punished with expulsion."

I froze at his words. Everyone shouted in shock. Expulsion. But we only just got here! It's the first day! Everyone here has had their Quirks longer than me. And their probably more powerful too.

"We're free to do what we want about the circumstances of our students." Aziawa lifted his hair out of his face, revealing his bloodshot eyes and disturbing smile. "Welcome to U.A's hero course!"

"Last place will be expelled? But it's only the first day of school!" The brunette spoke up, "No, even if it wasn't the first day of school, this is too unfair!"

"Natural disasters, big accidents, as selfish villains. Calamities whose time and place can't be predicted. Japan is covered with unfairness. Heroes are the ones who reverse those situations. If you wanted to go talk with your friends and Mickey D's after school, too bad. For the next three years, U.A will do all it can to give you one hardship after another. Go beyond. Plus Ultra. Overcome it with all you've got." Everyone seemed to be more encouraged to do this test. I was still a little sour about doing work.

"All right, demonstration's over. The real thing starts now."

We started with the 50 meter dash. We each had to race to the bottom of a straight track. The first people to go was Iida and a girl who had long dark green hair. Iida got 3.04 seconds, his Quirk is engine. The girl got 5.58 seconds, her Quirk seems to be frog based. The brunette used her quirk to lighten up her clothes, her Quirk is gravity and she got 7.15 seconds.
