Thump

Y/N took deep breaths to calm his raging heart.

Thump

Cold sweat drip down his back and forehead as he hastily wipe them back with the back of his hand.

Thump

He chuckle at how childish he was acting. It was like a virgin boy asking the prettiest girl in class for a date.

But these kinds of thoughts vanish as Y/N heard faint footsteps from the other side of the door.

Thump Thump Thump

The door opened and just as Y/N heart felt like exploding into tiny pieces Dinah's face appeared.

"Y/N? " Dinah said surprised.

"Hey Dinah, " Y/N said a little relief and disappointed.

Dinah open the door fully as she step through it, "Not that I don't want to see you, but what are you doing here? "

This time the nervousness return for Y/N, "Yeah... Is Lauren here? "

Dinah's lips thin into a line as her eyebrows slanted as if angry, "She's not here. Some things came up that needed handling. "

"Oh, "

Hilarious. After all the pep talk from the old man, and facing his fears, it all ended up for nothing.

Just life and it's games, Y/N thought with a heavy heart.

"Why don't you come in, " Before Y/N could think more he was dragged in by Dinah.

The girls apartment complex was like Camila's except it was more spacious. There were more things to describe but Y/N felt his mind would give up on him if he thought more on it.

"Sit here. " Dinah push Y/N lifeless body towards a black leather couch.

"Do you want anything? "

Y/N shook his head and remain silent. The feeling of regret slowly eats away Y/N mind as he imagine what would have happened if he told his feelings earlier rather than putting it off like a coward.

"This isn't gonna happen again, " Y/N ignore Dinah's weird statement as he stared at the ceiling with faraway eyes.

Maybe it's not meant to be, Y/N thought numbly. There were so many chances he should have taken, but faith didn't let him.

"You're just a failure Y/N, a nuisance to your mother and I, you should have never been born. "

It's been some time since he heard his father's voice. He must really hate himself if he dig up some part of his past to punish himself.

"I will try to fix you. "

Thump

A groan escape Y/N lips when he saw green eyes and that mischievous smirk.

"Why is my boy so depressed? "

"Stop saying weird things, Dyl. "

Y/N sat up and saw two of his closest friends staring at him. Dylan has a playful smile on his face but his eyes betrayed it. Beside him stood a concern Emma — she doesn't even bother trying to hide it as she grab Y/N face and stared straight at his eyes.

"What happened? "

Wide eyes Y/N wave at Dylan for help, "M-mate? "

Dylan raises his hands, "It's your fault mate. We told you we had your back, but instead you chose to handle things alone. "
