She stayed in my arms until her tears stopped, and then I had her look at me. "Carmelia. I'm sorry for what I said to her. I'm assuming you know what I do for a living." She nodded. "Baby, I'm sorry I can't be a better man for you."
"Why do you call me that?" She croaked.
"I don't know. If you like I can call you something else." She nodded. "Okay, pet." I rustled her hair and she giggled. I kissed her forehead and she blushed. "There's that beautiful shade of pink I love." I said, smiling. "Now, get dressed. Something simple. We're going out for the day. Bring a swimsuit." She nodded and went into the other room. Camelia was such a beautiful woman, it was almost a sin. Her eyes were a perfect shade of green, her light brown hair cascading down, stopping at her mid-back, her face clear of any impurities. She wasn't my 'type', but I wanted to call her mine. She was the kind of beautiful you couldn't ignore. As she walked back in, my breath left my body. "Oh wow Carmelia." I whispered."Is this too much?" I stood up and shook my head.
"No." I said, my voice suddenly hoarse. She knocked me off my feet without trying, and it was scary to me. "Shall we go?" She nodded, slipping some black flats on and I walked her out. Gage was waiting outside with the car. It was a modest car, a red Jeep Wrangler. I opened her door and helped her in, before hopping up in the drivers seat. She smiled at me as I started it up, the rumble of the engine filling our ears.
"Justin?" I glanced at her.
"Yes pet?"
"I'll be honest. You scare me sometimes. But..."
"But... what?"
"Right now, and at the diner... it's nice. Just talking, or whatever. Even if it's at my work, like yesterday." I smiled. She was blushing.
"Pet, I will do everything in my power to make you trust me. Okay?" She nodded softly and I gently took her hand. We had breakfast before we went to the bowling alley. "Come on."
"Bowling?"
"Pool." I corrected. "Come on pet." Her eyes sparkled as I led her inside and over to a pool table. She grabbed a cue and I got the balls out. We were halfway through our first game when a guy walked up beside her.
"Hello beautiful." He said and I clenched my teeth.
"H-hi."
"You single?"
"No she's not." I said, my voice a growl. He smiled softly at me.
"I bet."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"I bet you're just saying it to say it."
"I won't hesitate to kick your bitch ass." I snapped.
"Handsome, please. He's drunk." She said, grabbing my arm. I looked at him, trying to jump him but she squeezed my bicep. "It's not fair, and they'll call the cops." Sadly, she was right.
"Okay, princess." I said without thinking, and she smiled softly. He
walked away and I sighed. "I'm sorry-"
"Don't be." She said. "Let's continue?" She motioned to the pool table and I smiled softly.
"Let's get you home." I said.
"But-"
"Princess, please. The man at the sixth alley has been watching me the whole time." She nodded.
"We need to act normal though. Leaving in the middle of the game will raise his suspicion." She murmured. I nodded softly and she handed me the cue. "Your turn, handsome." I took the shot and soon, we were on our way home. My hand was on the stick shift, when her hand rested on mine. "Hey, what happened back there?"
"He was coming onto you. I couldn't just stand there." I said, my jaw clenched.
"You didn't have to threaten the guy. He was drunk out of his mind." I sighed as I stopped in front of her building.
"It's best we don't see each other again."
"W-What? Justin..."
"But I don't want to, and it may get you killed." I pulled her in for a kiss. There was nothing sweet about it. It was needy and rough. When I pulled away, I could see the lust in her eyes. "So if we do this, you'll have to drop your job, your friends, everything. If you say no, I'll never talk to you again. Yes, and I take you to my place so Michael can guard you at all times." Her breathing was ragged and shallow. She suddenly nodded.
"I understand. Can I have a week?" I nodded, and got out, opening her door. Helping her out, I walked her to the door.
"I'm not going to try to sway you one way or another. I'm going to keep my distance for the week." I said in a soft whisper. She pulled me in for a kiss, gently tugging at my bottom lip. I growled and pulled her body flush to mine, pinning her against a wall. "No other woman, has had such an effect on me." I whispered. "You're lucky I'm giving you a choice." I gently kissed her neck and she whimpered, before I sucked on her. She moaned and I let go, kissing her lips. She looked into my eyes, and I kissed the tip of her nose. "Goodbye, pet." I walked away and got in the Jeep, looking at her through the tinted windows. A tear was rolling down her cheek as I pulled away. As I walked inside, Gage walked over.
"Sir?"
"In a week, send a man to go to her house. She will say yes or no to this lifestyle."
"Yes sir."
