"Good Morning sunshine" a voice calls.

I groan and turn my back to the voice.

He gets into bed and kisses my shoulder.

"Wake up baby, breakfast is in the kitchen" he gets up from the bed and walks away.

I stand up from the bed and go into my kitchen. I smell the bacon and eggs frying on the pan. I sit on the stool and Jace puts the food on a plate. He walks around the counter and kisses the side of my head and puts the plate of food in front of me. He sits next to me and digs into his food.

"Enjoy," he says

"Thank you for making breakfast" I thank him.

"No problem it's an apology for last night".

"There was nothing wrong with last night, we could do it again sometime"

"You know what I mean Ivy" he says.

"Look I get it she's your girlfriend what we have is just sex that's it right?" I ask.

I knew it wasn't just that but it seemed that way to him. I didn't want my feelings to get in the way of our agreement.

"Right" he finally answers looking down at his food.

"Enjoy the meal sunshine I've got to go change if not Rebecca will know something is up," he says putting the tray on my bed.

"We wouldn't want that to happen," I say rolling my eyes.

"Bye Ivy"

He kisses me one last time and leaves.

I get ready for school by putting on my uniform and get my backpack. I honestly hate the school's hideous backpack but I have no choice but to have one.

Today I decided not to give a shit and take my Micheal Kors handbag and put all my books in there. I take the bag and lock the front door of my house. I drive away from my house and speed away to the school.

Ping

My phone rings. I take it with one hand and see that my dad texted me.

Dad: I heard you were are the principal's office yesterday

Dad: Ralph told me you played poker and he destroyed you 😝

Dad: The details for the dinner with the family are in the next text

Dad: Wednesday, 19:00 pm at the Woodsen Estate

I try to keep my eyes focused on the road while reading his text messages. My mother wanted to see me. Every month we have this meeting where we see each other and eat dinner together. It became a family tradition once I moved out as they didn't get to see me every day.

I was almost at school I decided to answer my dad when I'm in the parking lot. The last thing I need is to ask my dad to buy me a new car because I was texting and driving.

I pull into the parking lot at school and answer my dad's text.

Me: Nothing new, Uncle Jennings always manages to beat me at poker, it's his game 😉🃏

Me: Sounds great! I'll be there 🕖🤗

Dad: Great your mother and I will see you there 👍

I know there are a lot of things worse than this dinner but this was the worst for me. It always will be.
