Kova was chained up in the cave for weeks. He hadnt eaten any food or drank water for so long. Kova was starving, and really thirsty. He started panting.

Rusty felt the same way. He wished he could eat something delicious right now. He also wanted to drink some fresh, cold water. Rusty turned his head, and faced Kova.

Dont worry Kova, well find a way out of her Rusty said to Kova, with a smile on his face.

Kova was glad that Rusty hadnt lost all hope. However, he knew that Mazui would use him to kill his friends. And soon enough, the darkness would take over Kova. He would become the black winged wolf Mazui wanted him too.

Mazui walked in the cave, smiling at Kova with an evil look on her face. She knew how to make Kova angry. She could make him so angry, he would start attacking other winged wolves.

Kova, if you want me to free you, youre going to have to fight your best friend Rusty Mazui said to Kova.

Kova didnt want to fight Rusty. He was his best friend. If Mazui thought she could use Kova to kill Rusty, boy was she wrong. At least Kova hoped so.

Kova turned his head and faced Rusty. He just couldnt kill his best friend. He and Rusty had known each other for such a long time.

Ill give you a whole day to think about it, Mazui said to Kova. She laughed in an evil way, as she walked out of the cave.

Kova just thought about Larissa and Reila. He hoped they were alright. He was imagining being at home with Larissa and Reila. And then all of a sudden, Kova had lost hope and blacked out.

And before you knew it, darkness had taken over Kovas entire body. He faced Rusty, and snarled his face. Kova growled at Rusty, wanting to tear him to shreds. He tried and tried to break free of the chains.

Rusty was so freaked out. Would he actually die? He had never thought Kova would kill him. Not like this. There was only one thing Rusty could do now. He had to have hope, and believe that help was on the way.

Kova growled even louder. Eventually, he started barking at Rusty. It wouldnt be long before Kova broke his chains, and tried to kill Rusty.

Kova couldnt stand to be chained up anymore, and ripped the chains off his legs, with his sharp teeth. It seemed that Kova was getting stronger and stronger.

Now that Kova was free from those chains, he charged at Rusty, and bit his neck. Blood poured out of Rustys neck, and landed on the ground. Rusty screamed in pain, as Kova kept biting Rustys neck, with his sharp teeth.

Kova, you have to fight this Rusty thought, watching Kova sink his fangs into Rustys neck.

Kova was hungry. And he wanted to eat Rusty. Rusty looked delicious to Kova. Luckily, Mazui was there to stop Kova from eating Rusty alive. She ran inside the cave, and grabbed Kovas tail.

Kova, thats enough Mazui said to Kova, pulling his tail.

Im hungry! Kova yelled at Mazui.

Mazui had enough of Kova, and slapped his face with her paws. She couldnt allow Kova to kill Rusty. That wasnt part of her plan. Mazui just wanted to test Kova. And it turned out he had passed that test. He was ready for what would come next.

Sorry Kova, when you wake up, you can eat whatever you want Mazui said to Kova.

Mazui picked up Kova, and rested him on her back. She spread her wings out, and flew out of the cave.

Rusty felt like he should thank Mazui. Then again, he had no idea what Mazui was capable of. Who knew what she was planning? Whatever it was, Rusty had to stop it. And now, Kova was involved in it.

Kova had woken up in a different cave. This was the cave that Mazui was in. He looked around the cave, and found Mazui staring at him. Kova also found a dead rabbit in front of him. He couldnt resist, and ate the rabbit.

Im proud of you Kova, Mazui said to Kova, thinking about how evil he was now.

Kova stood up on his legs, and bowed down in front of Mazui. She was impressed. Now Mazui knew she could trust Kova. He would make a fine soldier for war. He would be able to kill Larissa and Reila. Not only that. Kova would be able to kill dragons too.

What are your orders Mazui? Kova asked Mazui, as he looked up at her face.

Mazui thought and thought for a while. She was glad that Kova would do anything for her. She thought of something Kova would be good at.

I want you to find as many winged wolves as you can... Mazui said to Kova, thinking about what else to tell him.

And kill all of them.

Kova was a little confused, and tilted his head. Why did Mazui want him to kill so much winged wolves? Was it because they werent loyal to her? Whatever the reason, Kova would do it. He wouldnt dare question Mazui. Now he would prove his loyalty to her, by taking any orders.

Dont worry Mazui, you have my word Kova said to Mazui, with an evil look on his face.

Mazui was more than happy. Kova was truly evil. He was just what Mazui had imagined. She had created her finest soldier. And now, that soldier would kill his family, if he had to.

Rusty couldnt stop thinking of Kova. He wondered if he could ever change. Was there still hope left in him? Or was all that taken away now, because of Mazui.

Rusty thought of what Mazui had done and growled, feeling hatred towards her. He really hated her now. She wasnt going to get away with this. Rusty would kill her.

Dont worry Kova, Ill kill Mazui Rusty thought, trying to break free of the black, metal chains, that were around his brown, furry legs. It was no use. Nothing Rusty tried, seemed to work.

Rusty looked around the cave, and found dead skeletons of winged wolves. Was he going to be the next one? Was he really going to die? And if he did, would it be like this?

Rusty was so hungry. He just hoped a rabbit or a squirrel would run in here, so he could at least eat something. Rusty was so thirsty too.

Not only that. He felt really sweaty too. Beads of sweat, trickled down Rustys face, and fell on his chest. Soon enough, his whole body started to sweat. Just when Rusty thought that things couldnt get any worse, they got worse. Sunlight shone in the cave. Rusty even felt the sunlight shine on his face. The sunlight was so hot, that Rusty couldnt stand it.

A brown winged wolf flew in the sky, flapping her wings. She was trying to escape Kova, and flew as fast as she could. She thought she had lost Kova, and relaxed.

The brown winged wolf spotted a cave with sunlight shining through, and flew towards it. She landed on the soft dirt, feeling bugs crawl between her talons. She walked in the cave, and was shocked to see that Rusty was here.

Do I know you? Rusty asked the brown winged wolf. He was confused, and tilted his head.

The brown winged wolf couldnt believe her eyes. How could he not remember who she was? She was so important to Rusty. He shouldve known who she was, just by looking into her eyes. What had Mazui done to him now?

Dont worry Rusty, Im getting you out of here the brown winged wolf said to him, as she ripped off the chains that were on Rustys legs, with her large, sharp claws.

Rusty was even more confused now. He had met a brown winged wolf, who already knew who he was. Had he met her before? If he did, he wouldve remembered her. Nothing came to Rustys mind, when he looked at that winged wolf.

How do you know my name anyway? Rusty asked the brown winged wolf, waiting for her to answer him.

Rusty now stood on his legs, feeling sweaty, hungry, and thirsty. Maybe this winged wolf would provide food and water for him.

Well my name is Cocoa, and Im your mother the winged wolf told Rusty.

Rusty was surprised and excited at the same time. He had never thought he would ever meet his mother. And now, here she was. Rusty and Cocoa could escape together. This is what he always dreamed of.

Rusty and Cocoa walked out of the cave together. They both spread their large brown wings, and took off into the sky, flapping their wings.
