As you kissed me delicately
I thought you meant it genuinely,
But how could you do it so senselessly?
I thought the world of you
But you only thought the world for yourself.
What irony I could not see it then
I wouldn't go back to what we have been.
I opened myself for you,
But you only wanted my surface.
Why couldn't you ever be certain?
Wasn't this real for you?
It may have been true,
You craved me
But I craved you in a different way.
I wanted to keep your heart at bay,
But you just threw mine away.
As I let you kiss me,
I knew it wouldn't last,
I knew I was going to be living in the past.
I didn't want to forget
The way it felt like we were a duet,
Singing in tune as our lips touched.
You didn't just suck my surface,
You sucked the life out of me.
Sometimes it feels as if your lips are still lingering on my skin,
Or maybe that's just the memory
Of what your lips did to me.
