Patton 1st POV

"Is that him?"
"Who's that guy next to him?"
"Why the hell would princey even talk to that?"

I look over at Virgil with disappointment. He's upset but is doing a great job of not showing it, I mean if I hadn't known him for most of his life I wouldn't be able to tell he was bugged. But he's doing the twitchy thing with his finger. I shake my head and glare at one of the kids in the hall. They immediately look at me in question and I shake my head.

I wouldn't say I'm popular, but I'm sorta known. I guess I'm like a dad to lots of people but that may be because I've been held back two years. I'm no ravenclaw but I am a hufflepuff. I try to be the happiness people need. The person who has always needed it the most right now is Virgil, and so here I am.

Yes I know I make it sound like I'm best friends with Virgil just because he's a charity. And if I'm being honest that's how it started. But now I've come to love Virg like a brother. So when I found out about that name on his hand I was so happy. Virgil has a soulmate for sure and because of that will never be alone, not even when I'm gone.
