Lee Hyun-Ae's POV

I never liked school.

But my parents send me there.

Every day.

The good thing is, I'm practically invisible.

Some people may think of me as beautiful, wise, and kind...

But I don't want anybody to notice that about me.

The less people know me, the less I get into trouble.

I look up from my journal. A bird perched on the rim of it. I stop writing and close it. The bird fluttered away. I decide to head home, since it was getting late. When I got home, it was already 8:30 PM. I snuck to my room and brushed my teeth. I changed and got in bed.

The next day...

I wake up late, and since my parents work in the morning, I have to get ready myself. I have no brothers or sisters. Well, none alive. My two younger sisters died from a serious contagious illness they caught from each other. Mother and Father never told me what is was.

I ran to the bus, and as always, I was last. I sat at the very back of the bus. I like my life. Smooth and simple. Suddenly, a boy sits down on the seat across from me. I ignore him. Probably just somebody wanting to watch videos without being noticed.

In class, I always sit in the back. We don't have assigned seats, but I always sit in the one in the back corner. But this time, that same boy sat beside me.

I'm starting to be suspicious.

After school, I head to my "second home."

Literally nobody knows about it. I walk to the edge of the cliff and sit down, letting my legs hang off the sides. I decide to get up and go home early, but I slip.

I start to fall and dare not scream. I know someone will notice. I want an unnoticed death. I curl up into a ball, waiting for the impact, but there is none. I unfurl and gasp.

Time has stopped.

Literally nothing is moving. The droplets of water stuck in mid air. The rocks that fell from where I slipped were idle. So, how come I am able to move? I squint to see if anybody is up there, but I can't see anyone. I grab onto a ledge, and I feel like there's no gravity. And once I'm mid air, I just stop there. I keep climbing and reach the top. Like I thought, nobody is there. Once I get to the top, everything is back in motion.

That was weird... Was I hallucinating? I hear a rustling behind me and I whip around. Nobody, again, is there. I walk home, thinking about what just happened.
