We rode in silence to the restaurant. She spent most of it looking out the window or fiddling with her hands in her lap. There was something quite childlike about her and I couldn't put my finger on it.

I took her hand in mine hoping it would make her relax and it did. She looked stunning. Keeping my hands off her would be a serious challenge. I couldn't wait for everyone in the restaurant to see us. I'd booked us a private booth so that our conversation wouldn't be overheard. As much as it bothered me I would have to discuss some difficult topics with her. But I felt confident she would understand.

The Bentley I had arranged to pick us up pulled in alongside Nobu, where a small group of paparazzi were huddled outside.

The driver came round to open my door and in turn, I, went round to Georgiana's to let her out. As soon as she was standing the flashes went off. She smiled at me awkwardly and reached for my hand. I held it and guided her into the restaurant trying my best not to hit a photographer who had a camera stuck in my face.

"Wow, what was that?" She laughed.
"God knows! Sorry I didn't think we'd be photographed."

The maître d' showed us to the table. I walked behind her watching as every table turned to stare at her. She looked incredible. Sexy as hell with the most amazing body. I lapped up the attention and no doubt had a huge ridiculous grin plastered on my face.
We sat in the middle of the booth, our knees touching.
She seemed nervous, perhaps it was because of all of the attention?

"I've never been here before, but it's always mentioned in all the celebrity magazines." She smiled and surveyed the menu.

"So what do you normally do on your weekends?" I thought I'd start with some light conversation.

"Um ... well. I used to ride allot. I see my friend Arabella sometimes. We went to Cambridge together. And I like to read." She looked uncomfortable, stumbling over her words. Didn't she go out? Party, date, travel?

"Is that all you really do." And I eyed Her cheekily. She blushed and nodded. It sounded like she barely had a life which struck me as odd. A millionaire in her own right surely she lived as lavish a lifestyle as her father had. Though it had struck me as strange that our paths had never crossed during the years, not at any of Cobalts' homes or parties.

Sensing my thoughts she straightened up and looked at me.
"Father was a wonderful man in many ways but he was very protective of me. I've had very little freedom. I spent most of my teens at home or at family friends homes. I wasn't allowed to date or go out late."

This revelation threw me. Cobalt was a control freak. But why had he kept her under lock and key?

"When Mummy died it nearly killed Daddy. He swore he couldn't live if he lost me and so he wrapped me in cotton wool."

"Didn't you rebel? Challenge him?" I'd been out of control at her age. The idea of Ma keeping me at home and out of trouble was laughable.

"I did for a while but seeing how upset it made him I just couldn't bear to do it. He said I had to be careful with who I made friends with, especially men. They would only be interested in my money. But he was wrong. I did meet someone but he made sure it never went any further. It broke my heart at the time but I couldn't be angry at him for long. I knew he had done it out of love. Now I'm faced with a whole new chapter to my life. An opportunity to have a relationship, to see the world and to have new freedom in my life. It's just devastating that it came at the cost of losing him." Her cheeks reddened and her eyes became watery.
