Yu-Gi-Oh: Joey's love

Chapter 1

It's been two years since Atem and Renita left Lisa and Yugi. They missed them but they had two children to keep them occupied. But they had a third child on the way. "I hope this one is a girl" Yugi said to Lisa rubbing her stomach. She's was in her final month of pregnancy. "Me too Yugi." Lisa said. They were getting ready to go see Joey duel in a new tournament for duel monsters. Lucky the tournament wasn't far from Domino.

Yugi, Lisa, little Joey and little Atem all got in the car. They drove for about an hour to get to the spot of the tournament. They arrived before Joey's first duel started. But it was about to start.

Meanwhile Joey was preparing for the duel. He didn't know Yugi and Lisa and the kids would be there. He had a good reason to be in the tournament. For the last two years he's been looking for someone. The one woman he risked his life to save on multiple occasions. Mai. He truly loved her. He knew joining tournaments would be the best way to find Mai. It was time for his first duel of the tournament. He took a big breath as he walked out to the duel arena when his name was called. Lisa and Yugi cheered as he walked out. When Joey heard them he smiled. He waved his hand to the crowd for he didn't know where Lisa and Yugi were sitting. "Faceing Joey Wheeler is the one, the only, Mai Valentine" the announcer said. "Mai? She's here?" Joey thought. Mai came out and waved to the crowd. As soon as she saw Joey she smiled. "Hello Joey" Mai said. "Mai, it...it's been a while" Joey said nervously. Yugi and Lisa were shocked to see her.

"It looks like we get to face each other for the first time since..." Mai stopped. She didn't want to relive that horrible day. It happened when she had the seal of orichalcos. She and Joey we're dueling. Joey had beaten Valon and it took a lot of Joey's energy. He challenged Mai right after. Joey couldn't finish the duel and lost his soul. That was the last time Mai saw Joey. She felt horrible about what she did. This was her first tournament since that incident. She was ready to find Joey and tell him how she really felt.

"I know Mai, don't blame yourself for that. Let's have a fun duel where nothing is at stake" Joey said. Mai smiled. "I'll let you go first" mai said. "Alright." Joey said. "Let's duel" they said together. The crowd was going whild. "Since you said I can start, oh wait, I can't draw on the first turn anymore. I keep forgetting that" Joey said laughing. "Let's see, I play blue flame swordsman, in attack mode. Then I place one card face down and end my turn" Joey said. "Alright my move, I draw. I play harpy lady in attack mode. Then I play elegant egotist witch let's me sommon the harpy lady sisters. I place one card face down and end my turn" Mai said. Joey smiled. "My turn, I draw, I sacrifice my Blue flame swordsman and sommon Jinzo to the field, now all traps are useless. Jinzo attack one of her harpy ladies. That ends my turn" Joey said.

The duel went on for some time. Mai never stopped smiling. Joey was just as happy. Finally the duel was decided. "The winner is, jumping Joey Wheeler" the announcer said. He won by calling red-eyes black dragon and destroying her last monsters and the rest of her life points. "Congratulations Joey" Mai said. She was about to walk away when Joey went up to her and grabbed her hand. She looked at Joey. He put his hand on her face. He looked in her beautiful purple eyes. "Joey?" Mai asked. Without saying a word he kissed her on the lips. Mai was shocked but didn't try to get away. Instead she embraced the kiss. After separating Joey said "sorry, I had to do that, at least once" he was about to walk away when Mai said "Joey wait" Joey looked at her. "I was hoping to find you" she said Joey was shocked. "I've been trying to find you too" Joey said. They hugged. "Will you be my girlfriend?" Joey asked in her ear. She pulled away from the hug and shook her head yes. They shared another kiss before they had to get out of the duel ring for the next round.

Joey ended up winning the whole tournament. He won a great trophy. Lisa and Yugi came and congratulated him. "Thanks guys for being here" Joey said. "We are glad you finally found Mai" Lisa said. Right on cue Mai came out and went to Joey. "Joey, I'll be moving to Domino. Is that alright?" Mai asked. "Why wouldn't it be alright. Your my girlfriend." Joey said. Mai laughed. "Your right." Mai said. Mai noticed Lisa's stomach. "Whoa, another one?" Mai asked. Lisa nodded. "Baby number three" Lisa said. "Wait, you have two other kids. I knew about the first one but didn't know about the other one" Mai said. Little Joey and little Atem came running to Lisa and Yugi. "Meet little Joey and Atem" Yugi said. "Atem? Where did you get that name?" Mai asked. "And now that I think about it, where are your guy's puzzles" Lisa and Yugi looked at each other. "They were destroyed. Atem and Renita were set free over two years ago." Yugi explained. Mai was confused. "Remember in duelist Kingdom when Lisa was crying and the sprit of her puzzle came out?" Yugi asked. "Yeah, wait that was Renita?" Mai asked. "Yes. Of course at that time we didn't know her name. My puzzle had another sprit in it. His name was Atem. We didn't learn there names until right before they were set free" Yugi said. "So we named our second son after Atem" Lisa said.

"Well let's get something to eat. Dueling takes a lot out of you" Joey said. Mai laughed. "Alright." She said. Joey took Mai to a nice restaurant for their first date. "How's Serenity?" Mai asked. "She's good. She will be graduating high school soon" Joey said. "Wow, that's hard to believe" Mai said. "Yeah. Mai, I wasn't lying when I said I was looking for you. Infact, I've been trying to find you since I graduated." Joey said. Mai was shocked. She knew Joey graduated two years earlier. "Why were you looking for me for so long?" Mai asked. Joey looked her straight in her eyes. "Because I love you Mai"
