A couple months went by. Mai was starting to show a little bit. They already told their friends about the baby. Lisa and Yugi were happy for them. Joey decided not to tell Yugi that they were planning on naming the child Yugi if it was a boy.

Mai was able to get her first ultrasound. She heard the heart beat and was getting more excited about the baby. "I must say, you look farther along than what the chart says. Yet the baby looks right on track. If not alittle ahead." The doctor said. "What could cause that?" Mai asked. "Usually if there is multiple babies. But I only see one. It could also be alittle extra fluid or something. I'm not too concerned right now." The doctor said. "Alright." Mai said.

A couple more months went by. Mai was laying on the couch. Then she felt something in her stomach. Joey was at work at the time. "Whoa. Did I just feel a kick?" She asked herself. She was bored so she went to see Lisa and Yugi.

Lisa greeted Mai when she got to there house. "How are you doing Mai?" Lisa asked. "Good. But I think I felt the baby kick" Mai said. "Let me guess, felt like butterflies in your stomach?" Lisa asked. "Yeah, exactly like that" Mai said. "That how it first feels. It was like that for my three kids" Lisa said. "Oh hey Mai" Yugi said. He was busy with a new shipment for the game shop. "Hey Yugi" Mai said. "What did we get in the shipment?" Lisa asked. "Magic the gathering cards along with more duel monsters cards. This shipment was from your father" Yugi said. "What's magic the gathering?" Mai asked. "It's a new game I created right after high school. It's grown really popular already. I've already named the world champion of the game" Yugi said. "Really, who?" Mai asked. "Kaiba." Yugi answered. "He plays?" Mai asked. "Yeah, he really enjoys it. Especially since there wasn't anything to do with Egypt." Yugi said. "Why would that matter?" Mai asked. "It's a long story" Lisa said.

Yugi showed Mai how to play. She enjoyed it, but she liked duel monsters better. When she went home she decided to practice for an upcoming tournament. Joey and Mai were both invited to be in it. Joey walked in the door. "Hey sweetie" Joey said. "Hey Joey" Mai said. "You practicing for the duel monsters tournament already? That's not for a while. In fact our baby will be born before that tournament" Joey said. "I know. I just thought I'd get a head start on practice" Mai said. She felt the baby kick again. "Oh" she exclaimed. "You alright?" Joey asked. "I'm fine. Joey, can you feel this?" Mai asked placing his hand on her stomach. Joey beamed in excitement. "Is that our baby?" Joey asked. Mai nodded.

A few days later it was Thanksgiving day. Lisa and Yugi invited Mai and Joey over. Lisa had made a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Yugi carved the 15 lb turkey and took out the wish bone for later. Yugi asked of everyone would go around the table and see what they were thankful for this year. Lisa went first. "I'm thankful for my loving husband, even though we got married young, and went through things most couples don't go though, we stuck together. And we now have three beautiful children. thank you Yugi for our lives together" Lisa sat down after she finished. Yugi went next. "I'm thankful for a loving and beautiful wife. Your right, we have had hard times but we stuck together." Yugi said and sat back down. Little Joey went next. "I'm thankful for my daddy and mommy, and my little brother and sister." He said and sat down. "I'm thankful for a great daddy and mommy" little Atem said. Joey went next. "I'm thankful for my new wife. I've laid down my life for her many times and would do so again. I love you Mai and I can't wait to have this baby with you" he sat down. Mai stood up since she was last. "I'm thankful for my new husband. Sure when we first met I thought he was such an amateur when it came to dueling. But he taught me the heart of the cards. And I can't wait for this new adventure in our lives" Mai said. She sat back down.

After dinner, Yugi asked Mai for a duel without duel disks. Mai thought I'd be fun since they hadn't faced each other since duelist Kingdom. Lisa and Joey couldn't wait for this. "Oh Mai, just so you know, you ready did help me back in duelist Kingdom. If it wasn't for you, I never would have trusted Atem." Yugi said. "What do you mean daddy. I'm only 2" Atem stated. "Not you son. An old friend of mine. I named you after him" Yugi said. "Oh. I didn't realize that" Atem said. "But Mai, this time I'm not holding back" Yugi said. "Your on" Mai said.

Mai went first. "I play harpy lady in attack mode. Then I play one card face down a end my turn." Yugi had an easy way around this. "I draw, I play skilled dark magician. Then I play pot of greed, this let's me draw two cards. The I play graceful charity, this let's me draw three cards and discard two. Then I play card of sanctity witch makes both of us draw until we each have 6 cards. Now that my skilled dark magician has three spell counters on him, I sacrifice him and special sommon my dark magician from my dark or hand. He's in my hand so come forth dark magician. I play 1000 knifes witch destroys your harpy lady. Now I attack directly" the duel went on for some time. Finally, Yugi one. "You still got it. Your not called the king of games for nothing" Mai said.

After hanging out for most of the day, Mai and Joey went home. Mai went to relax on the bed. Joey went up to her. "You alright Mai?" Joey asked. "Yeah, just tired" Mai said. "Understandable" Joey said as he laid down on the bed. Joey placed his hand on Mai's stomach. "Joey, I was thinking, could we go get a Christmas tree tomorrow?" Mai asked. Joey smiled. "Of course. That will be our tradition. The day after Thanksgiving, we get our Christmas tree." Joey said. Mai laughed. "Deal" she said. They settled down for the night and couldn't wait to get there Christmas tree.
