"I can walk, get off me." I shoved the masked man's hands away and stood. "Wish you thought about getting me some clothes while you were master minding to destroy Oliver and take me with you."
"If you take a drink of this you'll feel much better." Slade handed me this weird looking vial. I laughed at him. So hard I double over from the pain of it but kept laughing. He drew his eyebrows together and opened his mouth to say something but was cut off by a girlish scream. My head snapped up and my eyes clashed with scared brown ones. Those eyes that belonged to Laurel Lance.
I've only really spoken to Laurel two times. The first time she didn't say anything back to me, and that second time I basically told her off for approaching Oliver the way she did. I wonder what made Slade think she was-
I stopped thinking midway through that thought and my eyes widened. Oliver did love her a great deal at one point. Was it possible that ... maybe he loved her still? Would he chose her over me? Instantly I chastised myself for thinking that. They've known each other for ever. He says he loves me, but does he?
"You - You're Felicity, aren't you?" She stammered. A masked man slapped her. I opened my mouth to say something and then snapped it shut again and glared at Slade.
"Two people Oliver cares about most, huh?"
Slade placed the vial on a work table and leaned against it, crossing his arms. "Do you believe I chose wrong?"
"Oliver cares more about his sister than anyone else. More than her, more than me."
"I've already spoken to his sister. I'm not in the mood for games, Felicity." He walked off and a masked man gave me a bag of clothes. He closed us in a small closet like room and stood guard.
"Let me help you get dressed." Laurel whispered.
A tear slid down my face as she helped me.
What felt like hours later Slade came back dressed exactly like the masked men. He grabbed Laurel by her neck and pulled her out of the closet. Next, a masked man grabbed me and I yelped. His fingers gripped my shoulder where I was shot but I sucked in a deep breath and held my scream.
Slowly the masked man an I made our way through the twists and turns of the building we were in. Almost immediately I heard Oliver's 'Hood' voice. Deep and a bit mysterious, he shouted at Slade.
"Do not hurt her. I will kill you."
"Like your friend did the last time?"
"You'll be surprised how much I've learned since then." Oliver said, chillingly cryptic. I gave a mental high five to a John. He must have found the file I created.
"You can chose to save her, but can you chose to save them both?"
I was shoved out of the small doorway the masked man held me in. I gasped and stumbled and slid right into Slade's leg. Slade, as well as his masked friend, pointed a gun at me. "Your choice, Oliver."
"Ollie." Laurel cried. "Please." Oliver looked at her and then at me, laying on the floor gasping through the pain.
I looked up at him and steeled myself. "Do what has to be done, Oliver. Don't worry about being a monster or making the right choice. Your choice is the right choice."
"Felicity," was all he said before all chaos broke loose. I yanked Laurel to the floor and Oliver tossed me the formula I found that could remove the superhuman qualities Slade had. Making it easier for him to be killed. I grabbed the syringe and crawled over Laurel and jammed it into Slade's leg. He ceased fighting with Oliver and looked down at me. Shock and hurt and pain and anger washed over his face as I pressed the formula into his body.
Nausea kicked in and I started seeing double. Laurel rolled over on top of me and started pressing her hands against my right shoulder. Slade fell to the floor and reached for someone standing above him. When I looked, there was no one there but Slade never looked happier. Oliver drew an arrow and released. The arrow landed exactly where Oliver wanted, through Slade's eye. I laid down and looked at Laurel who was saying something to me. I blinked and heard her ask if I was okay. I nodded.
I blinked a few more times and saw detective Lance leaning over me. Another few times and a few EMTs faces leaned over me, cutting off my shirt and patching up the freshly opened wound.
It wad dark and smelled strongly of hand sanatizer. I grumbled. "Not the hospital again."
A chucked sounded from the corner of my room, a lot closer then I thought at first. My heart pounded in my chest and the monitor beeped rapidly. "Felicity," Oliver's hushed voice sounded alarmed, "It's just me. It's okay."
I sighed, releasing the pent up tension in my stomach. My breath wavered And Oliver's hand found mine. Betraying every thought that was telling me to not say what was going through my head, I spoke anyway. "Why are you here?"
Oliver gave me a confused look. "Why wouldn't I be?"
"Because Laurel was with me down there and she's probably needing some attention." I mumbled.
His hands brushed my hair away from my face and he leaned in close. "I don't want to be with Laurel. I want to be with the woman I love. The woman I think about always, want to be around always. I'm here because that's you. If it wasn't for you, Felicity, I wouldn't be the man I am right now."
"You might be." I smiled at him.
He smiled back. "I love you, Felicity."
"I love you, too, Oliver."
I laid down with her until she fell asleep again. the heart monitor singing a sweet lullaby to me as I brushed hair rhythmically away from her hair.
"You're cute together, you know." Laurel whispered from the door. I flinched. Easily I stood and walked over to her. "She really loves you, Ollie."
"And I really love her."
"I can tell." She smiled, looking a little sad.
"How?"
Laurel shook her head. "I'm not sure what was going through your head back there, but she did. She spoke and you listened, you calmed down and focused on what needed to be done. It was like you were drowning and she saved you." Laurel looked up at me breathed a humorless laugh. "You were never like that with me. Or Sara."
I didn't know what to say. Because it was like I was drowning and Felicity was my lifesaver. I didn't know what to do down there, when faced with Slade. Seeing how hurt Felicity looked but she sucked it up. Seeing Laurel in danger. When Felicity told me to do what I needed to do, I knew then that no matter what Slade was dying and I was getting to the woman I needed.
"Goodnight, Laurel." I squeezed her elbow before walking back into the room and laying down next to Felicity.
