⛰Chapter : 4⛰

⛰Seoul - 6:00am⛰

The morning is exceptionally crisp and cold today as I walk to work. So much so that there is a thin layer of crunchy frost on the sidewalk.

I un lock the large, round door handle of Maccies with my employee key and let the three other employees that are American who I don't speak to that often in. They crush their cigarettes on the ground and say 'thank you' to me as they enter.

"Sorry! Sorry I'm late!"
I spin as I'm about to go inside when I hear Hyun Gi's panicked , high toned voice as he runs towards me from across the street.

I chuckle at him, he looks like a clown in the mustard and red uniform.

"AHHH!" He shouts as his feet fly out from under him on the frost.
I cover my mouth and gasp as I watch him fall and hear him yelp.

"Hyun Gi! Hyun Gi!" I shout in panick as I carefully run over to him, minding the frosty road. "Hyun Gi! Are you okay?" I gasp as I lean over him and cup his face.

"Mhhmhm, my - my back!" He winces in pain as he tries to roll over.

"No shhh - its okay, I'll call the ambulance."

"Hey!! You two!"
I spin around as I hear the aggrovated voice coming from the door.
My manger stands in it with his arms folded.

My manager - A 45 year old business man who runs several fast food chains around South Korea apart from Maccies. He's a strict , cruel man with no remorse. He's an English speaker and doesn't even try to talk to us even in Korean , he doesn't even try to say 'hello'.

"You two get in here, right, now." He points angrily at the ground.

"Uh-my-my friendu...he is hurteu, he fall! Pleasue helpue?"

"Well! Get him up! He will be fine! If you two aren't in here in two minutes then you're both fired."
He spins on his heel and slams the door behind him.

"Bastard!" Hyun Gi coughs in pain.

I shake my head in disbelief and anger.
"Come on, lets get you up." I sigh as I link my arm under his and help him to his feet with a lot of struggle.
  I brush off the dirt from him as he groans in pain and rubs his back.

"It will teach you not to run won't it?" I smile as I try to lighten the mood.
"Oh don't worry hunny - now I have a legitimate excuse I'll never have to run again!" He pulls an extremely haply face as he links arms with me and we start walking towards the door. I burst out laughing as I link arms with him.

The day moves so slowly. Maccies is dying. I've been working here for just over two years and notice that everyday business gets quieter.

"So, any news about getting back into college?" Hyun Gi asks abit shyly. He thinks that its a touchy topic for me, which to a certain degree it is.

"Nope, not now anyway, to be honest, ever since Kwang Su was born our finance has never been the same-I mean not that I don't love him because I do! I love him so so much but - I mean, we used to be saving I don't know maybe...two hundred a month between us , now we're lucky if its fifty, and thats with us eating baby food five days a week for dinner." I sigh.

"Mhm mhm, mhm mhm, but girl that body - that body though."
I smile and dance around lightly as Hyun Gi hypes me up.

I've lost over two stone since that holiday in Daegu. Yes I'm underweight but its not intentionally - not that it makes too much of a difference.

"No but for real girl, I know you don't want it but if you're in a bad , bad place then I'll try my hardest to help you!"
Hyun Gi spins me around slowly under his arm as we dance to the music on the radio.
