"A v-vampire?" I asked. No! It was my fault. All my fault. It had to have been Shade who killed Tom's mate. It had to be. And it was all my fault.

"It's okay" he lulled and pulled me to his chest "I won't let anyone hurt you" he whispered in my ear. He was so stupid. There's no way he could stop Shade, absolutely no way. I pulled away from him and growled.

"You can't protect me" I yelled "No one can". I made and attempt to run past Tobias, down the stairs and far, far away, but he caught me around the waist before I could. I tried to pull out of his grip but I couldn't. I didn't realise what was happening until a couple of sobs escaped my throat. I was having a breakdown? Me? Tears flowed out of my eyes and I couldn't stop the feeling of anguish that washed over me. I was so sick of running! Running, always running.

Tobias held me to him and rubbed my head gently "Shh, shh, everything will be okay" he whispered into my hair. After a couple of minutes he chuckled.

"You smell so nice" he complimented and released me from his warm grip.

"Thankyou"

"Would you mind coming to my office? I wanted to ask you a few questions" he asked

I nodded "But can I get some clothes first?"

"That would be a good idea" he said as he analysed my body carefully. I blushed a little.

"This way to your room ma'am" he said comically and began walking down the hall. I quickly followed after him. It felt so weird to be here, almost surreal. This place was amazing. It had been so long since I'd been able to be somewhere so nice. It almost felt like I didn't deserve it. Who was I kidding, there's no way I deserve Tobias. I would just end up getting him killed.

Tobias continued walking down the hall until he got to the end where a rather large door was situated. He easily pushed it open and pulled me through. Inside was just as amazing as the rest of the house. But it didn't seem like an empty room. There were pictures on the nightstand that I couldn't quite see and the bed was a little ruffled up.

I gasped "This is your room?"

"Yes" he said casually and led me into his wardrobe. It was bigger than a bathroom. There were different kinds of clothes hanging on many different coat hangers. There were furs, and ball gowns, and even swimwear.

"Why do you have all these clothes?" I asked, still eyeing the different outfits

"Well to be fair they aren't mine, they're just here for emergencies such as this" he replied and walked over to the back of the wardrobe and removed a couple of hangers from the bar running across the roof. He swiftly handed them to me. I grabbed them and carefully studied what he had picked out. A pair of blue jeggings and a grey, long t-shirt.

"I'll leave you to get dressed, then we'll talk" he said and left the wardrobe, closing the door on his way out. Talk? Of course he would want to know why I was here. Anyone would. The only problem was, telling him the truth would mean telling him what I am, and that was out of the question.

I quickly removed Tobias' tee and put on the new clothes. Maybe I could tell him what happened, without telling him everything. Like they say, the best lies are slightly true. If he believed me than I could at least stay here until Shade got bored and left, and then I could leave. Staying was out of the question. If I stayed, they would eventually find out what I was, and they would either kick me out anyway, or deal with me themselves. I sighed. Even if Shade didn't have me on the run, I would still be running from what I am, and it would never end. Not so long as I was alive.
