YIXING's P.O.V

DATE: March 20th, Friday

It was 8 o'clock in the evening and mom called us for dinner. Victoria and I were watching a movie after hearing the word 'dinner', the both of us raced to the dining area.

"Kids, your dad is here! Let's go have dinner!" Mom shouted.

"Last one in is a rotten egg!" Victoria sang with a hurriedly laughing voice.

"Oh you'll be that egg alright." I answered with full confidence that I'm going to win this.

Victoria and I love to play and watch movies together even though I'm older than her. Others say that we're cute because we're not fighting at all. No rivalries and no jealousy. We have the same interests. Luckily, I got to the dining area first. Victoria is weak at running so she loses. She's the rotten egg.

"How many times do I have to tell you that running is prohibited inside the house? You might slip and get hurt!" Mom exclaimed.

"But it's Victoria's fault. She started it." I pleaded.

"No buts. I don't care who started it. I don't want any of you to get hurt. Ok?" Mom explained.

"Ok." Victoria and I answered with a big pout on our faces.

"So, what will you tell to your mom?" Dad looked at the both of us.

"Sorry mom. It won't happen again." Victoria and I responded.

I ran up to dad and greeted him with a peck in the cheeks as well as mom too. Victoria did the same. We started thanking the food and started eating happily.

After eating dinner, dad looked up to mom. Mom nodded at him as a signal that this is the right time that dad should tell us something.

"Uhm..." We all looked at him.

"You see, I received a big job opportunity at the company today." Dad started.

"Ooh great! Good for you dad. All of your hard work has paid off." I said.

"Yeah. But I'm not working here. I'll be working at Seoul and I'm taking you guys with me."

"Seoul? Is that a company?" Victoria asked.

"No dear. It's in South Korea." Mom explained.

I put my head down. Not showing my saddened face. Tears were starting to build up on my eyes. I can't explain what I'm feeling. Should I be happy that dad has a great opportunity and we can live a better life there? I felt total sadness as I totally burst into crying. Mom stood up and started drawing circles on my back for me to calm down.

"So, we are leaving at the 25th." Dad said.

"I still don't know. I haven't told my friends yet. I don't know if I can leave them." I answered.

"Yeah. Me too. It's hard to communicate without even knowing their language." Victoria added.

"We have to adjust. We will buy Hangul books tomorrow so that we can study them together. Your dad has a big job opportunity in Seoul and the house that we will be living is paid by the company. I know that this is hard for us but we cannot miss this opportunity." Mom responded.

I made a big sigh, "Ok. But can I do it with my friends? I want to tell them before the school year ends."

"Sure. Be with your friends. You can spend the rest of your day with them. But don't come home late. Understood?" Dad responded.

"Ok. Thanks dad." I stood up and hugged dad as I heard his approval. I started crying again.

"But what about me? Can I be with my friends too?" Victoria pouted.

"No. You're coming with me young lady." Mom said with a laugh.

"Awww. I have to tell my friends too you know." Victoria pouted.

"Oh honey, you can invite your friends here to play." Mom said.

"Really!? Thanks mom! We should call them tomorrow." Victoria hugged mom with her might.

Dinner was done and I decided to wash the dishes. That's all I can do for tonight due to dad's approval a while ago. I opened the faucet and as the water flow to the sink, my eyes started to tear up again. Sweet memories were running in my mind. Those precious memories that I made with my friends. The faces that I can no longer see and feel. All I can do now is to treasure them and be strong. After washing the dishes, I went to my bedroom and unlocked my phone and texted Luhan, Tao, and Kris.

To: Luhan, Tao, Kris

Hey guys. Can you come with me at the bookstore tomorrow at 9am? I have something to buy. Let's all meet at the park.

From: Luhan

Sure Xing. See you at 9am.

From: Tao

Ok Yixing-ge.

From: Kris

Sure. See you tomorrow then.

After reading their texts, I brought out my journal from the drawer of my study table and wrote about my day.

March 15

Dear Journal,

I hate to admit it but, I can't believe that in a few days middle school will be over. The fact that I will not continue my high school life with my friends here in China is very hard on my part to leave them due to my dad's job opportunity at Seoul. What shocked me the most is that he can bring the three of us with him (mom, Victoria, and me). All the expenses were paid by the company. I wish I could stay here and be with my friends or even if I can bring Luhan, Tao, and Kris to Korea as well. It's hard for me to leave but I had no choice. I haven't told them yet. Can I even tell them? This will be harder than I thought. :(

Love, Yixing

As I finished writing in my journal, I laid into my bed and put my headphones on and let the music rock me to sleep.
