The name of the Goblin who brings them to their vaults is Griphook. Lucy follows behind Harry and Hagrid while Griphook leads them through a door into a smaller stone tunnel. There are train tracks on the ground, but smaller, and everything is lit by candles.
Harry asks Hagrid what is in vault 713, but he doesn't answer. Hagrid couldn't answer. 'It's a strict secret, not for me to tell.'
'In you go!' Griphook commends. It's a cart; Lucy thinks it looks unstable, but it may be magical.
When they're all in the cart. Griphook shouts: 'Hands inside the cart!' When they start moving, it's obvious why. She wants to look where they are going but quickly closes her eyes. They move very fast, left, right, another left. She cannot keep track. At one point, she hears Harry shout something, but she ignores it.
When they stop at a vault, Lucy gets out first. That's Harry's vault; she heard Hagrid say the numbers. She turns around and sees Hagrid; he looks a little green: 'Hagrid, are you ok?'
'I am.' He answers, forcing a smile on his face: 'It will be over in a minute.'
At the same time, the vault opens. A cloud of green smoke emerges, and Lucy covers her face. Harry does the same, and then his eyes widen at the sight of gold coins and the amounts of silver. Lucy looks in disbelief. She has never seen so much money before. She doesn't understand how much it is. She knows what Hagrid told them: 'There are three different coins, Galleon, Sickle and Knut. They are gold, silver, and bronze. There are 17 Sickles in a Galleon and 29 Knuts in a Sickle.'
'This is all yours.' Hagrid tells Harry. Hagrid helps Harry take what he needs. It's time to go to her vault. She has always been an orphan who had nothing. Now, she would see something that was left for her.
'Can we go a tad slower?' Hagrid asks.
'There is only one way.' This is the grumpy answer Hagrid gets.
They go further down, not all that much, but her vault turns out to be lower, and when Griphook opens it, she cannot believe her eyes. There is even more gold in her vault than was in Harry's.
'Dumbledore told me she saved everything for you.' Hagrid tells her. Lucy doesn't move. She cannot believe that all of this is left for her. 'Let's get you what you need.' Hagrid says and moves forward, leading Lucy to step into her vault. It doesn't take long to take some money, and before she even realizes it, they're back in the cart, going even further down.
And there at vault 713. Lucy wonders what's inside. She isn't going to ask; she already knows that Hagrid won't tell.
'Careful.' Griphook says and steps forward. He carefully strokes his finger over the door: 'If anyone but a Gringotts goblin tried that, they'd be sucked through the door and trapped in there.'
'How often do you check to see if anyone's inside?' Harry asks.
'About once every ten years.'
It must be something extraordinary if it's this protected. Lucy tries to see what's inside, but Hagrid tries to block the view. The only thing she can tell is that it's very small. Maybe as big as a fist. 'You saw?' She whispers to Harry. He shakes his head. He didn't see anything either.
After a wild ride back up, they're outside. Fresh air, sunlight on Lucy's face, 'What's next?' She asks.
'Let's first get your uniforms.' Hagrid answers.
