Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions: Lucy and Harry walk in. They're immediately greeted by a woman. Maybe she is Madam Malkin? She is a squat witch dressed in mauve who smiles very friendly: 'Is it for Hogwarts?' Harry tries to say something, but she continues: 'I have everything in stock: Another boy is also getting his measuring done. He is a first-year as well.' The witch never stops moving: 'You both go stand over there.' She motions to where the boy stands and walks away.
Lucy does what she is told, and soon the woman is back and starts measuring her. Lucy holds up her arm.
'Are you going to Hogwarts as well?' The boy asks. He has blond hair, maybe even white. His skin is very bleak, but he looks very self-assured.
'Yes.' Harry answers.
The boy starts to explain what his parents are doing. He talks a lot. They don't say anything back, not knowing what to say. 'Do you have a broom?' The boy asks Harry.
'No.' Harry answers.
'Are you any good in quidditch?'
'No.' Harry repeats himself.
What is it? It's probably something with a broom? 'Are you any good?' Lucy asks. She is done but waiting until Harry is done.
The boy looks at her: 'Yes.' He gleams: 'My dad says so. He says it would be a shame if I didn't make the house team. Do you know in which house you'll be?'
'Do you?' She returns the question. She doesn't know how many houses there are or even which. She looks at Harry, who seems to be happy to be forgotten.
The boy answers: 'Normally, you only find that out at school, but I'll be in Slytherin. My whole family has been sorted there, so it only makes sense.' Lucky he didn't notice or care that she didn't answer: 'Imagine if you got sorted into Hufflepuff, I think I would go straight home.'
'You're done.' The woman says to Harry, and he looks relieved.
'I see you at Hogwarts.' The boy says.
'I suppose.' Lucy says before she and Harry leave the store. They find Hagrid waiting with ice cream. 'Thank you, Hagrid.' Lucy says.
'Yes, thank you.' Harry says, and Hagrid looks happy. They eat their ice cream in silence, and then they move on and buy other things, books, a cauldron, and many other things, including a telescope.
'Then there is only one thing left.' Hagrid says: 'Your wands.' This is the part that Lucy was most excited about. 'Oh, and I'll get you both a birthday present.'
'You don't have to.' Harry says simultaneously as Lucy says: 'It's ok, I don't....'
'I'll think I get you both an animal. I know it; you get owls.' He starts walking again, and they both follow him: 'When is your birthday?' Harry asks.
'In a few days.' She says: 'The seventh, yours?'
'A week before, 31 of July.'
'Happy birthday then.' Lucy grins.
