Well this certainly turned out longer than I expected. 6 pages. Please don't give up midway. Please please please? :D

I sit upon a group of blandly grey rocks back in camp. Again, I’ve lit a small, but bustling fire in front of me again. From underneath my brow, I watch the flames, my head bowed.

To read or not to read. To read or not to read. That is the question. Yes, I’m holding my father’s documents in my hands. Yes, there is nothing stopping me from reading them. Yes, these could be the very documents that reveal why my father wasn’t there to fix my window seat. But do I want to read them? I’m not sure.

My rock shifts. Destiny is sitting beside me. She’s quiet as a mouse and I didn’t hear a sound from her as she walked into the clearing.

“Have you read it yet?” she questions me, her voice gentle, as though she has approached a timid animal.

I just continue to look upon the grass. There’s an ant hill directly below me and to the side of it is a pile of broken sticks that lay in a disorganized order on the withering, thirsty grass.

Destiny sighs and reaches out to take the matted paper out of my trembling hands.

“It’ll be okay hon,” she tells me, putting her arm around me. I bury my face in her shoulder despite my previous resolution to stay strong.

She holds out the documents and her and I read silently to ourselves.

The one I use now…

Chip inserted: June 28, 2029

Daily notes are below.

July 1st: Entered into Room #7 with patients # 9, 10, 13, 17. Small conversations and polite greetings with all patients. Weapon discarded. By 9 p.m. certain tension built between all patients, including patient #7.

July 2nd: Small scuffles broke out throughout the day. Patient #7 is recorded as most aggressive. Weapons are not used.

July 3rd: Patient #7 is the first to attack with a weapon. Injures Patient #10 in the leg after a petty argument between the two. Patient #10 flees with #7 on his heels. #7 continues to stab #10 in the leg until Patient #10 has deceased.

July 4th: Patients #9, 13, 17, show no fear towards #7.  #7 continues to hunt others after another small argument. It is observed that arguments between the patients break out most often when the group must make a decision. #7 clouts #9 in the stomach area by mid-day and stays to watch whilst delivering miniature sword strikes to various areas of the victim. Seems to relish the pain distributed to #9, beams at any screams produced by the injured party.
