Chapter 10: Songs & Nightmares

Sakura, Kakashi and I were back at the house, I was sitting with Inari who was looking at a picture of his father, I sighed and handed him a picture that I keep in my pocket. "Here, I know you're thinking about Naruto. He's a kid thats hard to forget, But I don't want you to forget the rest of us. I would be sad to think that I was over shadowed by that goofball." I said smiling."Why are you the shortest in this picture?" He asked me. I sweatdropped, "They wanted to be able to see Kakashi so they put me on lower ground..." I said kindly. "Speaking of which I have to see what that no good shinobi is doing..."

I got up and walked out of the room and down the hall hearing Kakashi counting, "3....4....5..." I sounded as if he was lifting something heavy. I walked into his room to see Tazuna on his back while he was doing pushups with one finger, but now he was counting, "197....198...199" I glared, "You thought I was Tsun-chan didn't you?" I asked him. Without batting an eye he imediately responded, "No, just testing your hearing, you pass.." I sweatdropped, 'He's a quick liar...' Tazuna seemed to feel my murderous intent from Kakashi lying to me and asked a question, "I wanted to ask you earlier but, why are you still here when I lied to you about this mission?" I gave him a weird look.

"'To abandon our duty, is not courageous. Below the courageous, there is nothing.' Those are the previous Hokage's words." Kakashi stated. "That is the way of the shinobi. Shinobi's don't move because of money alone." He continued, sitting up and staring at his hand. I added my two cents, "Also, what kind of people would we be if we left you and your village to suffer under Gato?" With those words I left and ate my dinner, thanking Tsunami for the meal. With that I walked to my room and took my hair out of it's usual style and braided it. I then put on my pijamas on and hopped to the roof, looking at the stars.

'I wonder what the others back in Kanoha are doing? Are they all okay?' I thought of the faces of all my friends,' Shikamaru, Choji, Kiba, Hinata, Ino, Shino....Then I thought of my family, 'Suzume, Kei, Shizuka...I miss them all...' My mind wandered off until I heard a door slam and someone crying. I quietly creawled over until I could see who it was, It was Inari.

I was about to ask him what was wrong until Kakashi came out, "Can I join you?" He asked him. There was a moment of piece and quiet as both boy's stared out onto the water. Kakashi was the first to break the silence. "Well, Naruto didn't mean any harm by what he said, sometimes he just doesn't use his head." Inari stayed quiet and held his legs tighter to himself. "Tazuna-san told us about your dad. Like you, Naruto also grew up without a father." My head tilted in curiosity at this statement.

"Actually, he's never known his parents, and he's never had a single friend. The truth is, he's had a rougher past than you." This got Inari's attention while with every sentence my ears droop with Naruto's story. "Huh?" Inari asked. "But I have never once seen him cry or complain, he's always trying his best to get people to acknowlage him, for that dream he'd risk his life anytime. He's probrably sick and tired of crying. He knows what it really means to be strong just like your father. Naruto may understand your feelings better than anyone else." Kakashi continued. "What?" Inari asked in disbelief. "He doesn't seem to be able to be...not concerned about you." Kakashi said with a closed eye smile. "

With that Kakashi whent back inside and I scooted back, tears in the corners of my eyes. 'He's had it worse than me....Naruto-kun...' I started to sing, songs always made me stop crying and I always felt better in the end.
