"She has no idea who I am and I'm not gonna tell her, at least not yet!" I exclaimed into the phone. Jess just doesn't get it and with all the drama Sam got going on I'm running out of confidants. "But she likes you Dani, why would you pretend to be someone you're not?" I'd matched Ivy on Tinder a couple days after Sam's last visit to the poetry club but the thing was.. I used an alias. Fake pictures, fake name but she liked me anyways so it didn't really matter.

"You too pretty to be CATFISHING BITCHES!" Jess yelled into the phone interrupting my train of thought. "See this is why I didn't come to you at first I wasn't trynna hear all this judgemental bullshit! I'm not sure what I want or if I really even like girls like that! This is the first time I somewhat took it seriously and what if I back out before we meet up, if I decide it's not for me? I don't want her to know until I have my feelings sorted out and then if it doesn't work out I don't have to be awkward around her and vice versa. If it does work out then I'll admit to being the one texting her, no harm no foul."

Jess sighed into the phone. "But it is foul Dani. You're gonna hurt that girl if it doesn't work out then not even admit that you were the one behind the screen?? Then if it does you're gonna start off whatever y'all end up having together by lying to her? That's the stupidest plan I've ever heard you come up with! You're smarter and better than this honey. You need to tell her who you are now. And side note, you've never not known what you want as long as I've known you. You're not the type to give anyone more than two minutes of your time if you aren't interested and you've given her three weeks. Three! I know this is new terrain for you and you don't wanna be pushed but you need to admit to yourself and to her that you like her and you want to see where things go. "Okayyyy we're getting off topic. I'm still not totally sold on your suggestions either. Imma just pull up on Sam, I could definitely use some impromptu advice and she's probably the best person I could go to on the subject" I grabbed my keys off my coffee table and paused my episode of "She's Gotta Have It". "I'll let you know how it goes, be my pizza date later?" Jess chuckled lightly. "I would babe but Deon taking me to Ruth Chris and you know this heaux aint turning down free steak! Let's do lunch tomorrow though, good luck love you girl" "Love you too girl." I searched through my phone to find a short soundtrack on the way to Sam's. Hopefully she'll help bring me a little clarity.
