Samara (aka Sam) just started a new chapter in life- transferred to a new school, got some new friends and even landed a new job. What she didn't expect was that her fresh start would land her squarely in the middle of Kiah and India's world.

"Thank you for dropping me off baby. Don't be late!"
"It's Dr.Hartford, he's cool as hell. I'll be good. Give daddy a kiss though."
"Eeeehhh who's that?!"
India grabbed my face through the car window and mushed my lips into hers. "Bye baby. Be good."
"Okay dad!" I yelled, rolling my eyes as she sped off bumping the new Without Warning album. I walked into class like 20 minutes early. Some girl was in class already. A random nigga stood in front of her taking pictures of her..what the fuck?!
"Is you smoking a blunt?!"
"Relax baby girl. I'll put it out before that Trump looking mf come back in here. Do all these professors like that spray tan shit or is he the only one that like looking like a grapefruit?"
"Dr. Shaffer pretty much the only one. He also hates weed and he would love to report all of our asses."
"Didn't I say say I say I got you?" She French inhaled while putting the blunt out inside the desk. She put it in a smell proof box and sprayed her area with Coco Chanel perfume. "I'm Ivy. What's your name love?"
"Samara"
"You're a bad one Samara. We gone be best friends, watch."
Students started to file in and get ready for class.
"Ayy they came out icy. Here. I gotta get to class before I'm late."
The boy handed Ivy her phone back and left.
"Hey what you think about these?" Ivy showed her phone to me.

"They fire. I mean ion know about fire enough to risk catching charges or whatever but they good."
"You gotta live on the edge Samara"
I laughed. "You just can't help being nonchalant about the shit can you? You Trouble."
"Nah. I'm just high"
We started laughing. "You a little funny, I'll give you that."
"I'll risk a little trouble to see that smile again."
I blushed. I'm not gonna lie, she was bad. But nothing could replace how India looked at me. How she took charge, how protective she was, how romantic. Nothing could replace that. Not Kiah and not her.
I thought about everything that took place in the last couple weeks as Dr. Shaffer droned on. Did Kiah really want me? Or did she want to quell her insecurities about India by 'winning' me? Was I a contest to her, maybe even to both of them? Ivy turned towards me, breaking my concentration.
"Are you going with me to the poetry club tonight? Don't make me beg love. It's bad for my reputation" Ivy grinned, flipping her hair over her shoulder. I rolled my eyes. "You so damn boujee I swear!" "I'm a young black queen Mara. But you didn't answer my question" she hopped in her chair a little as she pouted. She couldn't be my girl even if I was single, she too damn high maintenance. We would last about two whole minutes before I'd have to kick her pretty ass to the curb. "I got you, really I was gonna go anyways. That's my spot" "Mmhm, sure you were. Some people in my drama class going for extra credit. You know a bitch gotta rack up them points!" I smirked and cut my eyes around the classroom to see people turning around to look at us. I swear these kids can't keep they noses out of other people business. "I'll meet you up there!" I said, trying to raise my voice over the bell ringing. I wonder what tonight has in store for us.
