Chapter 26
SHY
“Hey, how are you?” she said smiling at me, “Still remember me?”
I rolled my eyes, “How could I forget?” I smirked. It’s Jessica. My number one enemy while in school. She’s the girl who tried to get Mike from me. I should have let her, though. Stupid me. “I’m fine, you?” turning around facing the counter moving along the line.
“Great,” she said behind my back.
“What are you doing here?” I asked but not fully turning towards her. She must have found out about Mike and coming here to see him.
“I studied here,” she replied making me turned to look at her. She smiles twitching her lips at the same time as if mocking me.
I opened my eyes wide surprised with the reply, “What? Here? You mean you study in Oxford?”
Still mocking at me she replied, “Yeah, you don’t believe it?” she chuckled, “Why don’t you ask Mike?”
“I will but I don’t think he can remember,” I scoffed.
“Huh?” she looked confused.
“He had an accident and he lost his memory,” I explained.
“Are you here alone?’ she asked instead.
“Yeah,” I nodded slowly and turned around when the cashier asked for my order. “You want anything?” I asked Jessica whose standing behind me.
“Yeah, Blended Mocha,” she replied and I ordered both our drink. “Since I’m free at the moment, you think we can we sit down and talk?” she asked me, “There’s a few things I need to tell you.”
“Sure,” I shrugged, “I’m free.” Taking our drink we found a place outside and sit down facing each other.
She sipped her drink and looked at me, “I’m sorry for all the things that I’ve done to you, Shy,” she started. “I hope you could forgive me. I want to start new and be friends with you,” she said. She looked so sincere.
I smiled at her, “I’ve already forgiven you Jess. I don’t have any grudge against you and if you want Mike, you can have him,” I told her.
“You’re dumping Mike?” she asked with her eyes wide open. I think I shocked her. She then chuckled, “At last,” she mocked, “But no thank you.”
“Huh?’ I cast a confuse look.
She chuckled again, “Well it’s about time you did that. Do you know that he’s been cheating on you all this while?” she asked.
I nodded, “I have that feeling he did and I’m not surprised if the girl is you,” I scoffed.
She bite her lips, “Yeah, he did cheated you all along with me, ever since you became his girlfriend,” she looked down at the fingers, “We been having an affair behind your back all this while. He told me he’s leaving you soon after we both enrolled in Oxford but I found out he never did. He’s just using me to get him in Oxford and other few things that could benefit him,” she gave me an apologetic look.
I was shocked with her confession, “You mean you help him to get in Oxford?”
She nodded, “Yeah, my father did and he got me in too so that I could be with Mike. I’m such a fool to believe that he loves me. All this while he’s using both you and me, Shy.”
Still shock with her confession I just didn’t know what to say. Seeing that I remain quiet, she continued, “Once a cheater always a cheater, people said. I found him in bed with one of my friends whose father is one of the riches man in London. That was when I broke off with him.”
