Chapter 8
Nate
God, I couldn’t believed I nearly kissed her and I swear she wanted me to kissed her too. Damn, I should just kiss her and taste her sweet lips when I’ve got the chance but she’ll definite will hate me more and try to avoid me again.
“Hey mom, dad,” I said opening the door, welcoming my parents giving them a hug.
“Hey, honey,” mom responded and then looked over my shoulder, “Shy?” she said letting me go and walked over to her.
“Hi, Aunt Gina,” Shy smiled at her sweetly and they hugged. I smiled looking at both of them.
“Wow, look at you,” mom said, “You’ve turned into a beautiful woman.”
Shy blushed, “You look beautiful as usual, Aunt Gina,” and went over to dad and hugged him, “And you too Uncle George.”
“How about me?” asked Neil who suddenly appeared at the door.
“Neil!” screamed Shy excitedly and ran over to him giving him a hugged. Neil spins her round laughing and they look like a couple in love. Gees, I rolled my eyes at them. How I wished she was that happy when she saw me again.
“Wow, you look amazing,” praised Neil.
“You too,” responded Shy, “God, I missed you.”
“And I missed you too,” said Neil.
“Yeah, yeah, you two missed each other,” I sarcastically mocked them, “Don’t we all already know that?” but I don’t think they could hear me. They’re too busy talking to each other.
My mom laughed, “Somebody sounded very jealous,” raising her eyebrows at me and linked her hand around mine and walked to the living hall.
“Me? Jealous?” I gave mom a funny look, “Why would I be jealous?” I asked trying to cover up what I really felt. She knows me too well, like an open book.
She chuckled, “Why don’t you tell me?”
“Mom,” I blushed, “So, how was things back home?” I quickly changed the topic.
“Everything’s going well,” she replied smiling.
“Hmm, something smells nice,” my dad suddenly said.
“Oh, that’s would be our dinner, “ I told him, “Shy cooked chicken grill and bread pudding.”
“Chicken grill, wow, yummy,” injected Neil licking his lips like a small kids. “Did you cook it just the way your mom did?” he smiled looking at Shy and she smiled back sweetly at him.
“Yes I did,” Shy told him proudly. “I remember you love it.”
“Hey, I love it too,” I injected happily but she rolled her eyes at me.
“Well, I love it too,” dad said smiling. “I’ve missed Edna’s chicken grill too,” rubbing his tummy, “I’m starving already.”
Shy laughed, “Well why don’t you sit down?” she said pulling my dad’s hand to the dining table, “and I’ll take out the chicken from the oven,” and went to the kitchen.
I took mom’s hand and lead her to the table. Shy came in a few minutes later with the chicken and placed it in the centre.
“Shy, you don’t have to go to all the trouble preparing dinner for us,” mom said to her. “Or did Nate bully you into cooking dinner for us?”
