"It's a nice place you've got here, very cozy," Jade said as she looks around, noting the blonde's lack of furniture. "Very spacious."
"Well, I just got back from the military so I'm just trying my best to adjust," The blonde explained, throwing her keys on the table next to the door. "Can I get you something to drink? I can't promise you that I have anything good though, I didn't have much time to go grocery shopping."
"Then why did you offer?" Jade asked sharply. She was still in a bad mood from the hospital where her fate and the fate of her unborn child was already determined. "Maybe Jed has some food. He has servants, doesn't he? How lucky he lives right next door with his own family." She pointed out, bitterness laced in her tone.
Perrie walked over and took a seat on her couch, turning her head to the direction of the other girl. "About that... how long were you two together?"
"You mean how long were we having an affair?" Jade corrected her. "Almost a year. How long was I aware of the affair? Two months. I ended it two months ago, and now I'm here." Sighing, she gave in and occupied the space next to Perrie. "I have no idea how I got here," she chuckled. "Two months ago we were having dinner in a restaurant, just like we did almost every other day, and one phone call ended it. Sounds so cliché." Her smile faded. "How could I have not known? One year; we've been together for one year and not even one suspicion."
"That's Jed for ya. When we were sixteen, Jed stole his mom's car at least three times a week when she was sleeping. His parents still don't know that secret." She stared at Jade who was already staring back at her. "He's good with secrets."
Jade nodded, "Someone should have given me that memo." She stood up and wandered into the kitchen. "I need a drink." She opened the refrigerator door, but was stopped before she could even see anything. "Hey! I know you have alcohol there. Everyone has some kind of alcohol in their houses. And your apartment practically screams alcohol."
"You're pregnant," Perrie reasoned. "You're not getting close to any type of alcohol."
"Can you really consider me pregnant? It's hardly a baby!" She remarked, hands gesturing wildly to her temporary thin stomach.
Perrie shook her head and opened her fridge, handing her a bottle.
"Orange juice?" she stared bewilderedly at the drink in her hand.
"What? It has pulp."
"Oh my god, you have got to be kidding me right now." She groaned, pinching her nose bridge in frustration.
Perrie smiled fondly at the brunette, "It's healthy for you and your...your...your lack of baby," she teased. "Come on, we'll go out to dinner."
Jade looked at her blankly, "Are you flirting with me, Miss Edwards? You do know I'm pregnant with your best friend's baby right?" She raised an eyebrow at the blonde.
Perrie laughed, pulling the other girl in front of her before placing her hands on the brunette's shoulders to push her out of the door. "That better be finished when we get there," she smiled.

It was a very low key diner. The place was only filled with a handful of people when they entered.Walking to the corner of the room, both girls settled on the empty booth by the window as the waiter took their orders. "I guarantee you this place has the best chili you'll ever taste."
"Are you sure that's allowed on the menu, doctor?" Jade teased, but it seems the blonde wasn't in the mood to play around anymore.
"I got something for you." Perrie reached back into her jean pocket and took out several small brochures, placing them orderly in front of the brunette. "I took them from the hospital."
