Y'all better start thanking this person because their comment is the sole reason why I updated this quick.
I have a heart. How... surprising. But it's a bit shitty since it was rushed. So I'm really sorry about that✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼
I'm still serious about my little note tho. I'm still feeling a bit underappreciated.
Just a bit tho. Tiny. Very Little.👌🏼
Parking in front of a community center, Perrie ran to the other side her car to open the passenger's side. "Are you going to drop me off and leave me here until I get over my tantrum?" Jade teasingly asked as she stepped out of the vehicle.
Perrie grinned at her and took her hand, pulling her inside. "I think it'll help." She whispered.
When the blonde opened the second set of doors, Jade's eyes widened at the sight of little kids running around her. "And you thought I'd like this when I've been deprived of one?" Her tone was a little lighter, no longer depressed.
"Caitlin!" Perrie called out, letting go of Jade's hand as she gave her sister a hug.
"Hey, Pezza!" She smiled. "Jade! What are you guys doing here?" She asked, welcoming Jade with a hug.
Jade shrugged and looked at Perrie.
"We're here to offer our services." Perrie said, raising her eyebrows.
"Okay," Caitlin prolonged the last syllable. "Well, the more, the merrier. Look, it's really easy. We try to establish a sense of inclusiveness here at Safe Haven." She explained. "And your timing is perfect. There's a meeting upstairs, so if you can hold down the fort here, I'll be right back." Caitlin ran up the stairs with a couple of other adults following.
Turning her attention at the shorter girl, Perrie smiled. "Okay, inclusive." She repeated Caitlin's description.
Jade nodded and sighed. "And you're sure I can do this?"
"I saw the way you looked at that little girl with the fruits, and I saw you looking at your sister. I know you can do so much more, Jade. But for now... baby steps. And this is a good start." She pointed to a little boy in the corner who was looking around and looking scared. "I think I found your first customer. I'll go looking around for more... victims of children society." She said, giving Jade a quick peck on the cheek before leaving.
Jade began walking to the lonely boy, taking a seat on the chair beside him. "Hey, there." She tilted her head to give the boy a closer look, noticing how the little kid was looking over at the other boys playing basketball. The little boy stayed quiet. "You know, I love basketball too." She shared. "My stepdad would bring me to the park after school and he would teach me. He was my favorite stepdad." Jade reminisced.
"How many have you had?" The boy asked.
"Well, my mam just got married again, so that makes him daddy number 5" she answered. "I'm Jade." She stuck out her hand.
