A/N: I know, I know. This update was long overdue. But I got... lazy ._.
I actually had half of this chapter done already before, but I just neglected it in the middle because life had been such a bitch. So if there are any inconsistencies, that's on me.
Anyways, I hope you'll enjoy. It's been a while, so I'm a bit rusty ♥️♥️♥️
Still unedited tho skskskks
The next morning, while Jade headstarted in packing her things, Perrie stood in the doorway, watching her. "I thought you were joking about moving out."
The brunette laughed as she emptied out another drawer. "Nope. I've actually been thinking about moving out for awhile now." Perrie took a step forward as Jade just kept on smiling. "I know you asked me to stay, but there's no baby, Perrie. The whole point of staying here was to care for a child and raise her, but she's not here. And as much as I love the way you've taken care of me, I can't keep falling on you for help."
Taking the girl's hands into hers, Perrie said, "I wanted you to."
"I know, and I wanted you to want it. But I'm okay. Does it still hurt? Hell yeah, and seeing you helped. But, I need to move on. Everyone knows that, Danielle bitterly pointed it out. And moving on also means..."
"Moving out."
She placed her palm on the curve of the blonde's cheek. "I called a friend, Melody, and she owns this place that rents out a couple of rooms. She generously gave me one, and it's two blocks from here, so it's not that far." Perrie nodded. "Look, I'm not going to date someone whom I'm already living with." Jade slapped the taller girl's arm, teasingly. "It's already too tempting right now.
Perrie chuckled, "I'll be good." She promised.
"I know. But that's not the only reason." She heard Perrie sigh. "Jed living across the hall won't help our situation." Looking at the blonde's facial expression, Jade answered her unsaid question. "No."
"What?"
"I'm not in love with him."
Perrie raised her an eyebrow, "How can you be so sure?"
Walking to the taller girl, Jade placed her lips over the blonde's, lightly brushing against them. "I'm sure. And now that I'm getting my own place...we can have private dates, without anyone barging in or calling for interruptions. It'll just be the two of us."
"We're dating?"
Jade's smile faltered, going back to packing her clothes. Perrie laughed and grabbed the brunette, "There's a carnival downtown. I thought you'd like to go tomorrow." She asked the girl.
"I don't know if we're dating," the brunette retorted.
"Jade Thirlwall, I'm officially asking you on our first date to a carnival tomorrow. Will you go with me?"
Jade smiled, liking the words coming out of the blonde's mouth. "I don't know. I might have some other things to do." At this, Perrie pushed the brunette down so her back was flat on the bed, giving her a warning sign — knowing exactly what would bring Jade to her knees.
Laughing, Jade lifted her head enough so her lips touched the blonde's. "Fine." She surrendered. "But I'm still moving out." Perrie threw her head down, as if she lost a battle, making the other girl laugh. "And so I need to pack." She said, pushing Perrie off.

Jade was thankful that she didn't have too much to bring to her new temporary place — so she was all moved in by midnight. She also refused Perrie's help because she needed to do this alone, and she couldn't rely on her forever, especially so early in their relationship. And not letting the blonde see her new place would give them the step-back they needed — also, the sense of mystery.
