Mark's P.O.V.

Friday, 17th September 2014

My eyes flutter open, expecting my normal, boring room, only to see an asleep Jack. Our faces are inches away and it takes every ounce of will in me to not close the gap. I gaze at his features, taking in his faded green hair falling perfectly over his potato complexion.

His eyes flutter open, reveilling the sky blue eyes I've needed my entire life. We lay there for a few moments, time going by in slow motion.

"Mornin'" Jack mumbles, smiling.

"Top o' the mornin' to ya." I whisper back. He pouts and rolls off of the bed. I blush as his v-line shows as he stretches. I turn over and grab my clothes from yesterday, walking into the bathroom. I get changed and head out, expecting to see Jack waiting for me. Instead, I see his small white butt facing me. My face burns like a bonfire as I sprint back into the bathroom and shut the door.  After a minute, I creak open the door and see Jack, thankfully, fully dressed and grinning at me.

"So. There's this bonfire and firework show tonight. Wanna come?" He asks, slinging his backpack on his shoulder.

"Uh... yeah!" I grin and hug him. He pats my back and we head out for school. As we walk, a girl shouts from across the road. Jack groans and grabs my wrist. He begins sprinting, me practically being dragged behind him.

"Oh *pant* my *pant* god *pant* SLOW THE FUCK DOWN!!" I shout from behind him.

"NOPE!" He cackles back. We sprint all the wall to school and he stops outside the gates. He turns around, grins, and holds out his hand for my to take. I hesitate.

"Don't you dare fucking run." I warn, grabbing his warm hand. He laughs and walks me to the theatre block. There are no students at the school at this time, ya know, it being 7am and all. he leads me up a ladder and dances along the scaffolding.  He reaches a door and puts his finger to his plump pink lips. He opens the door and steps inside. The room inside is dark and with a couch in the corner. In the other corner, monitors of the school plaster the walls. There's a girl, sat down in an office chair and scribbling something on a piece of paper. Jack puts his hand on her shoulder and she freezes. Her hand becomes a blur as she whips around and puts a knife to his throat. Jack does the same to her and smirks.

"Good morning to you too Janice." He chuckles and they lower their knifes. She's dressed in all black, her hazelnut hair tied into a ponytail and her emerald green eyes glow with emotion.

"This one's Mark, correct?" She says nodding towards me, "Mark Fischbach, new kid?" She stands up.

"Yup." Jack smiles and puts his hands on his hips.

"Name's Janice." She says, smiling. "Pleased to meet 'cha." She bows like a man and I giggle.

"What are all of these monitors for anyway?" I ask, motioning to the computer screens covering the wall. She smirks at Jack and walks over to a laptop on the desk.

"Welcome," She grins, "To my CCTV kingdom!" She flips on a switch and all of the screens turn on, showing different places around the school. I stare in awe as Janice chuckles. We sit down and chat for a bit.

"Then I pushed him onto the b-."

-BELL-

We all groan and head to classes.

-AFTER SCHOOL CAUSE IM LAZY FIGHT ME-

We walk out of the prison gates and laugh at each other's stupidity. We walk back to my house and grab some supplies before heading to Janice's apartment. She walks alongside us as we make our way to the fields where it's being held. The venue bustles with people and I stay together with Jack and Janice. We head over the the food tent and Jack gets some hot chocolate and hotdogs. I take a sip of the hot chocolate only to find that it was boiling and it burnt my tongue.

"AAAAARRGGGHHH FUCK!!" I scream, spitting out the volcano drink.

"What's wrong?" Jack whips around and checks on me, genuinely worried.

"I burnt ma toungue..." I mumble, the pain making it difficult to talk. Jack hands me a bottle of cold water and I gulp down an eighth of it.

"Better?"

"Better." I smile and hug him.

"Waddup bitches." The one and only Janice shows up behind us with a tray of sweets and cakes. We sit down on the damp grass as we wait for the fireworks to begin.

I stare up at the starry sky, wondering how big the sky above really is. Suddenly, a long bang sounds and I cling onto Jack. I look up at the sky to see a blue and gold firework slowly fading to ash. Jack laughs, mouth full of Victoria sponge cake. The next few go off, a mixture of red and green dancing in the sky.

After the show, we decide to head home. We get up from our spot next to the bonfire and walk out of the gate.

We joke as Janice rants on about magnets, mesmerised by the amount of stars in the black sky. We drop her at her house and walk home.

"Hey, thanks for having me." I say, breaking a comfortable silence. "Ya know, for two whole fucking days."

Jack chuckles and hugs me tightly.

God I love that boy.

929 words.

Not my best, not my worst. This chapter was a bonfire night special and the venue was based on my experience a few hours ago. Yes I burnt my toungue. IT HURT OKAY?!
Till next time,
