"I'm sorry. My love, please forgive me for what I have done." Katelynn whispers to herself as she ignores her mate's mournful call.

Quickly Katelynn shifts into her wolf, leaving her torn up cloths in the dirt as she turns the opposite way, and starts running. Tears formed as the tug in her heart told her she was rejecting her mate for leaving, but she had too. Katelynn couldn't take the pain, or the abuse anymore.

The pain only worsened the farther she got, but that only pushed her further, and further to get away. 'K...Katelynn! P...please! Don't leave m...me! I'm sorry!' Her mate cries through the mind link. Katelynn howls mournfully, but does not respond, and only runs faster.

Her mate later howls in pain telling her she had broken the mate bond, and that she was free. But it was painful for her too, and she fell while running, ending up crashing into a tree. Katelynn, and her wolf struggle as the broken bond punishes them for leaving their mate, but it was worth it.
"Go back to him!" Katelynn's wolf cries, but she knew they couldn't. They both had planned to leave. It was only the bond that was telling them to return to their precious mate now. "I-I'm so sorry Sky!" Katelynn cries as another painful blow from inside them comes.

Four days later the pain stops. And Katelynn, and her wolf were exhausted. "Katelynn we made it." Sky says happily. "Yes, yes we did. And now we are free." Katelynn responds still feeling slightly guilty for leaving their no longer mate. "He abused us Kate. All that matters now is that we live, and that we survive." Sky says before falling asleep. Katelynn nods silently, and slowly she falls asleep as well.

In Dreamland:

"You stupid b**ch! Why did the Moon Goddess have to give me such a stupid mate!" George yells. "I-Im sorry.  I'll clean it up. I'll clean it up in no time." Katelynn stutteres cleaning the broken glass off the floor.

A sudden painful kick to her side made her fly to the side, and hit a wall. Angrily George would stomp over, and deliver painful blows everywhere on Katelynns body. One kick... two kicks... three kicks, Katelynn would count all of  them, and each time he would stop at twenty-three, his lucky number.

"I-Im sorry. P-please stop." Katelynn sobs, but that only encourages him to do more.

Katelynn awoke startled looking wildly around her to realise where she was again. 'Are you okay Kate?' Sky asks. 'Y-yes. I-I'm fine. Thanks Sky.' Katelynn responds, slowly standing up to her paws. A wave of dizziness made her stumble, but she balanced herself before she fell.

Quickly she then goes to find some source of water, feeling slightly dehydrated for not have drunken any water for a long period of time. And luckily Katelynn finds a small stream.

Smiling a toothy grin she pads over to it, and bends her head to lap at the heavenly good water, loving the cold freshness of it as it soaks her tongue, forgetting about everything that has happened to her lately.

Now all she had to do was find a way to survive. Turning away from the stream now, she starts to run again loving the wind whipping through her white silvery fur. One thing Katelynn has to do is stay far away from pack territory which shouldn't be too hard, hopefully.

After at least an hour of running, Katelynn stops to rest for awhile.
'Im glad we didn't let him mark us.' Sky suddenly says making Katelynn jump.
'And where did that come up from all of a sudden?' Katelynn asks. 'I've been thinking about it for a while. If we would've let him mark us, we would have ended up...' Sky gulps. 'Dead.' Katelynn finishes. 'Yeah.' Sky agrees.

After that they both went silent. Slowly tears ran down Katelynn's face as she thought of the fun memories she used to have with George. How he turned from kind, and gentle to abusive, and mean. But then she thought to way back before that even happened. She thought back to her family. They were probably worried sick about her because Katelynn didn't leave like normal. She was actually kidnapped by George, but she was to caught up in the mate bond that she completely forgot about them. They probably forgot about her too though. It's been months since that day.

For now, Katelynn was on her own.
