"Daddy! Your home!" Little Katelynn yells before rushing to him. "Ahhh my baby girl! I missed you so much!" He responds while easily picking Katelynn up like nothing. "How was your trip, dear?" Katelynns mother asks, and in responce Katelynns dad sighs exhaustedly making little Katelynn giggle. "Daddy's tired." She says, and mother also chuckles. "Then daddy should be off to bed." Mother insists, and father nods."Yeah okay, but first I'm going to read this new book I got to my little sunshine." Father replys, and mother smiles sweetly. "I'll watch." She says before they all head up the stairs to Katelynns room.
Katelynn awoke, and it felt as if she were floating on a cloud because she was so comfortable. "You know, you were smiling in your sleep?" A sudden voice came making Katelynn jump up to a sitting position, and she turns her head to see her mate smiling innocently. "Sorry." He apoligizes. "It's okay." Katelynn replys.
"Do you usually smile in your sleep?" He asks, and Katelynn shakes her head, no. "Not usually. What you saw was a rarity. How long have you been sitting there?" Katelynn asks not helping the concern that flashed in her eyes as she sees her mate haunched over on a chair. He must have seen the concern because he smiles sweetly before answering, "One day. Probably would have been more if you weren't such a fast healer for some reason, not that I'm complaining anyway, I'm just glad your okay." He responds.
Katelynn nods with a small smile, "Yeah." She murmers. "Are you hungry?" He then asks, and Katelynn's expression turns worried which makes him frown. "Whats wrong?" He asks, and Katelynn just shakes her head in response. "Um, uh, it's nothing." Katelynn says quickly her expression now saddening. "Sweetheart, I'm your mate. Please don't lie to me." He says, hurt clearly written in his voice.
For some odd reason, him being hurt was painful to Katelynn, and she flinches as he brings a hand up to her face which brought it down immediatly. "Sweetheart I'm not going to hurt you." He says with an unreadable expression. "R-really?" Katelynn stutters with a scared expression. "Yes, and you know you can tell me anything right?" He asks, and Katelynn nods slowly.
"Now can you tell me, why you were worried when I asked if you were hungry?" He asks, and Katelynn sighs before nodding her head. "You'll probably reject me if I tell you, and beat me afterwards but..." Katelynn was interrupted by her mate, "I'll never reject you, or beat you! Who gave you that idea!?" He yells making Katelynn flinch.
"I-I'm sorry alpha." Katelynn apoligizes. "It's Damian, call me Damian sweetheart. And I'm sorry I yelled at you. Just tell me why you were worried when I asked you if you were hungry." He says calmly, and Katelynn nods sniffling back tears before she spoke. "You aren't my first, I-I had another m-mate." Katelynn starts, and his eyes widen before they flashed with anger. "What did he do?" He asks grabbing Katelynn by the hand. "H-he kidnapped me from my old pack." Katelynn says wincing as his grip tightens.
"I was to caught up in the mate bond to, to." Katelynn begins to cry, and she uses her free hand to cover her face. "I forgot my family existed. I'm such a horrible, horrible werewolf!" Katelynn sobs, and she was suddenly brought into a hug by Damian. She sighs, and relaxes into the hug before slowly hugging back.
"He was nice at first but things turned ugly, and really quickly." Katelynn whispers, and his grip tightens around her. "He started to hurt me." Katelynn says, "And after five months of him beating me, I ran away, breaking the mate bond." Katelynn finishes, and Damian sighs before releasing his hold before running his fingers through his hair.
"And the reason why I was worried when you asked me if I was hungry was because my old mate had asked me the same thing before." Katelynn lets out another sob, "Before he..." Katelynn chockes, and again Damian brings her into a hug. "Shh it's okay, it's okay. You don't have to tell me what happened right now, but I promise you whatever he did, I'll never do it to you, okay?" He asks, and
Katelynn nods before smiling weakly.
"Thank you, Damian, for everything." Katelynn whispers, and Damian nods, "Anything for you, my love." He replys before suddenly picking Katelynn up bridal style. "Now lets go get some food!" He says before running out of the room, and down a couple flights of stairs. Katelynn laughs with joy, feeling as if she were flying for how fast he was running, until they finally reach the kitchen.
Damian sits Katelynn down on the counter while he searches through the fridge. "What do you want?" He asks, and Katelynn smiles. "Anything you have is fine with me." She replys, and he nods before pulling out a box of pizza. "Can you wait a little longer before we eat?" He asks, and Katelynn nods as he sets the timer, waiting for the oven to heat up.
When the oven was hot enough, Damian sets the pizza in the oven, puts the time on for how long it had to cook before closing the oven. Damian talks while they waited, telling Katelynn mostly about his pack, and family in which he later asks if she would like to meet them. Of course Katelynn agreed to it before the oven beeped signaling the pizza was done.
They then waited for it to cool down a bit, Damian adding a couple jokes as he talked more about his family. Katelynn loved to listen to his life, and even laughed a few times until he asks. "What about you?" And Katelynn tilts her head. "What about me?" She asks. "What did you do before, well... you know?" He says while looking down at his feet as if worried if he shoud've asked or not. Katelynn smiles making him smile in relief as she begins.
"My old pack, my family was the greatest. They loved me with all their hearts, and took very good care of me, I uses to do alpha work." Katelynn sniffles a little as she remembers the happy memories she used to have. "Which pack are you from? Maybe I can take you to see them again." He says, and Katelynn smiles. "Really? But what if they don't want to see me again?" Katelynn asks, now becoming sad. "Of course they would want to see you again Katelynn! What happened was not your fault. Do you perhaps come from the royal pack, 'Silver Moon'?" He asks, and Katelynn nods. "But how do you know that?" She asks, and Damian smiles. "They've been looking for you for a long time princess." He says before adding, "Now, how about that pizza?"
