A Second Mate? (Ch 3.)

"I'm so tired of being here."

"Supressed by all my childish fears."

"And if you have to leave."

"I wish that you would just leave."

"Cause your presence still lingers here."

"And it won't leave me alone."

"These wounds won't seem to heal."

"This pain is just to real."

"There's just to much that time can not erase."

"When you cried I'd, wipe away all of your tears."

"And you'd scream I'd, fight away all of your fears."

"And I held your, hand through all of these years."

"But you still, have, all of me."

Katelynns mother sings, and the little version of Katelynn smiles at her as she sang. "You have a lovely voice momma, I wish I had it." Katelynn says honestly, and her mother laughs in amusement. "You have just a pretty voice as me Kate, why don't you sing the rest?" She replys, and Katelynn nods enthusiastically before doing so.

"You used to captivate me, by your resonating light."

"Now I'm bound by, the life you left behind."

"Your face it haunts."

"My once pleasant dreams."

"Your voice it chased away."

"All the sanity in me."

"These wounds won't seem to heal."

"This pain is just to real."

"There's just to much that time can not erase."

"When you cried I'd, wipe away all of your tears."

"And you'd scream I'd, fight away all of your fears."

"And I held your, hand through all of these years."

"But you still, have, all of me."

Katelynn sang the rest, and both she, and her mother sigh with happiness. "I love you mamma." Katelynn then says. "I love you too baby girl." She replys.

Katelynn abrubtly awoke feeling very weak, and she can sense that a border patrol was coming. Just great! Can my life get any worse? Katelynn thought. Soon out came a group of wolves, and immediatly they spot Katelynns bloody form. They then look at the rogues before they look at her again with narrowed eyes.

Slowly one of them come up, and Katelynn senses their rank as beta of the pack. "Please I mean no harm. I was just trying to get away from the rogues, if you let me go I promise you'll never see me again, ever." Katelynn pleads through the mind link. "Then what are you still doing on our territory?" The beta male asks, and Katelynn slowly stands up, her wounds still dripping with blood. Katelynn pants with effort before trying to take a step, only to whimper in pain, and collapse. "I-Im so sorry." Katelynn apoligizes before trying again only to end up doing the same thing.

For a moment, Katelynn saw sympathy flash in the beta males eyes, but quickly they go back to normal. "You are hurt, I don't see you going anywhere soon. I called the alpha, he'll decide what to do with you." The beta says, and right then, and there Katelynn just gave up, holding a pain written look.

A loud howl then came from the forest filled with power after awhile, telling Katelynn, and the other wolves that the alpha was close. Soon a midnight black wolf jumps out, and a sudden sweet smell rushes over Katelynns senses. No, this can't be happening! I already had a mate!

The wolfs eyes widen, and a sickening sound of bones snapping told Katelynn he was shifting. She closes her eyes tightly in fear, and pain of what was to come until a sudden hand brushes Katelynns head, and sparks flew making her her eyes snap open to be met with a handsom man with crystal blue eyes, and jet black hair. He smiles happily before saying, "Mate."

Katelynns eyes widen, and she trys to get up, only to whimper in pain, and fall again. Her mates happy filled eyes turn to shock, and then anger. In fear he would hit her, kick her or anything that he could possibly do to her, made Katelynn flinch. "I am deeply sorry alpha, I did not mean to tresspass, I was only trying to escape the rogues." Katelynn says quietly, mindlinking the alpha who's eyes became suddenly gentle. "That is alright, you were only trying to survive, and I don't blame you for that." He responds in the mindlink. "Can you shift please?" He then asks, and Katelynn weakly nods before shutting her eyes feeling her bones snap into her human form.

"Look away." Katelynns mate growls at the others, and they did so. As soon as Katelynn shifts, she covers her main parts. "Anyone have an extra shirt?" He asks. "Yes alpha." The beta replys giving him a shirt making sure that he didn't look at Katelynn which she was thankfull for. "Here you go." Her mate says while slightly blushing making Katelynn smile inside before she takes the shirt, and puts it over herself. The shirt was huge! Going down all the way to her knees. "Thank you alpha, I am grateful." Katelynn says in a sweet tone which was surprisingly her real voice.

Her mate frowns, "Don't call me alpha, were mates so that makes you my equal." He says, and Katelynn couldn't help but flinch. "I'm sorry." She apoligizes. "It's fine, don't worry about it." He replys, his smile returning to his face. "Can you stand?" He asks, and Katelynn shakes her head, no. "Okay, I'll just carry you then." He says, and he suddenly picks Katelynn up bridal style sending sparks through out her body.

Katelynn gasps, and holds unto him tightly making him chuckle. "You okay?" He asks. "Y-yeah, I'm okay. I'm just hurt." Katelynn responds making his eyes narrow. "I'll kill whoever did this to you." He growls, and Katelynn shakes her head, no again. "Why not?" He asks in suprise, and she points to the dead rogues on the floor making his eyes widen. "B-because I already killed them, well one of them escaped." Katelynn says.

"Then I'll find the last rogue that escaped, and kill them." He says while shrugging, and Katelynn couldn't help but laugh. Relising her mistake, her eyes widen, and she smacks her hand over her mouth before looking away. "I'm sorry." She apoligizes. "For what? Laughing? Your aloud to laugh sweetheart, and I think it's quiet cute." He responds making Katelynn blush for some odd reason.

"Alright were here." He says, and looking up, sure enough there stood a huge white house that probably had at least four stories. But in front of the house is what caught Katelynns eye. It had a huge garden in the front which was surrounded by a concrete walk way. "It's beautiful." Katelynn says, awe clearly written in her voice. "Not as beautiful as you though." Her mate responds making Katelynn blush again which causes him to chuckle.

"Your going to love it here sweetheart, I just know it." He says, and suddenly Katelynn feels herself drifting to sleep, and for once she just lets herself do so, not before she whispers, "Thank you." To her mate as once again darkness consumes her.
