I really hope the link worked...fingers crossed.Alexander sprinted down the stone path, buttoning up his shirt as he went, being careful to avoid touching his reddish bruises all along his neck. He breathed heavily, knowing that it's too hot to be running in this heat, knowing what he did, knowing what his brother would think if he new, knowing that he shouldn't be up at this hour, knowing that he could die if anyone new what he did.
Alexander's pace quickened, hoping that his brother was still asleep, that he could be able to curl up on their makeshift bed they had made out of whatever seamed comfortable.
As Alexander ran, his eyes skimmed the land marks that he barely recognized in the darkness, looking for the alleyway him and his brother slept in.
Taylor shop, bakery, the market, house, wrong alleyway, house, wrong alleyway, house, ah, The Alleyway.
Alexnder slowed his pace to almost a creep, as got nearer and nearer to it, hoping, praying, that his brother was still asleep.
As soon as he finally reached the opening of the alleyway, he heard a loud yell that made him tense up.
"ALEXNDER!", the voice shouted angrily, "Where have you been!?"
Alexander didn't answer, instead he tried his best to loosened his shoulders and let his arms fall at his side.
"Well!? What do you have to say for yourself!?"
"J-James...I..I didn't know you'd be up so late..I-"
"Of course I was up this late! I was looking for you!"
Alexander's heart to sank all the way down to the pit of his stomach. He didn't want this to happen, not like this. It was bad enough to have to live with the guilt of earlier that night, but now this...worrying James, making go out of his way to look for him, not having any idea where he was.
Alexnder sighed and kneeled down on the uncomfortable stone road, resting his hands of his lap.
"Alexander.", James said agitatedly, "you still haven't given me an answer."
Alexander sighed, taking his time to stall as much as possible before having no other options at hand.
"Alexander.", James sighed impatiently.
"I can't...tell you."
"What do you mean you can't tell me?"
"I just...can't."
"Alexander.", James said pointedly.
Alexander new that he couldn't stall for long. More of this will make James angrier and angrier by the minute. James was a good man, yes but Alexnder new that he wouldn't take his secret to kindly, no one would. But nevertheless James was going to badger him until he gave and answer. Alexander had no other option.
"Can you keep a secret?"
James looked suspiciously at him but was unable to hide his childish craving for secrets, regardless of the fact that he was 17. He bent down a little so Alexander could reach his ear. He cupped his hand over James ear too make sure nobody hear it if they happened to be on an unlikely midnight stroll.
Alexander brought his lips close to James ear and whispered the words that he would never want to leave his mouth, words that he would never thought that he would say in his life, words that can end his life with the snap of the his fingers.
James moved away very quickly as if Alexander was something disgusting, as if he was a disease that He didn't want to catch.
James looked mortified but not as much as Alexnder who looked like his words were pried from his throat.
