[ THREE. ]
i didn't know what it was, but i always looked forward to every week at the playground because of him.
we would do many things together.
but the most important part of those days was when we sat on the ladders and talked about life and vowed that we'd be best friends forever.
those talks made me learn a lot about tiny.
like the important things.
like how he just moved here from south korea the year before, and learned english from his older brother that's in eighth grade.
or how he was the only asian boy in class and felt extremely different from everyone else.
even the small things.
like how he didn't like chocolate sprinkles on ice cream cones.
and how he wrote his letter y's and j's and g's with a curl at the bottom.
but i wondered if he knew anything about me, both the big things and the small things.
about how my classmates made fun of my big teeth and called me a deer.
or how i liked juice better than soda.
or how i didn't have any friends at school.
or how my whole room was the color pink.
does he remember all those things?
did he take them with him when he stopped coming to the playground?
or maybe it didn't matter, especially when we didn't know each other's names.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: yikes this chapter got sad so fast. by the way, that's it for the short chapters! now most of the chapters are going to be 1k+ words while these were probably 400 words max. but that doesn't make any of these fillers, so please pay attention to the details! i hope this isn't a turn off, though!
luv y'all ! ♡ — radi
