Nikki paced around her house, waiting for Kevin to come home. It's been a month since she had taken the pregnancy test and she didn't know how to give Kevin the news. Whenever Nikki talked about having kids with him or starting a family, he would always push the idea aside, almost as similar as John did.
She heard a door close and keys. "Babe?" She heard. She exhaled. "Here goes nothing," she said walking to the door. She put on a fake, but believable smile on her face, walking to see her future husband. "Hey, baby," she smiled. He smiled back as he gave her a hug, kissing her cheek doing so.
"I missed you," she whispered. "I missed you too," he said. "How you feeling? Still sick?" He asked. She pulled away. "Yeah, but I think I'll be better soon," she says. "Uh, I actually have something to talk to you about," she says. "OK," he says putting his keys in his pocket. "Actually, I wanna show you something first," she said taking his hand.
"Nicole, where are we going?" He laughed. She smiled, not answering his question. Once they got upstairs, Nikki opened the door to a guest bedroom in their house.
"Why are we here?" He asked. She smiled as she put her hands in the sweater she was wearing, which happened to be his. "What do you think we should use this room for?" She asks. He shrugs, looking around the room. "I don't know."
She walks to the closet and opens it, taking a bag out, handing it to him. "My birthday's not for another week, babe," he smiles. "And you know I don't want any presents," he says. She smiles back. "I know. But I just wanted to give you something now."
Kevin chuckled as he takes it from her. "I can open it now?" He asks. She nods. "Open it." He takes the tissue paper out, looking through the bag. "There's nothing in here," he says looking at her. "Keep looking," she smiled. He took more tissue paper out, until he felt something in his hand.
He looked at Nikki confused as he took what was in his hand out. He looked down at it and then back at his fiance.
"This is a joke, right?" He smiled at her. "Surprise, daddy," she smiled back. "Nicole," he said looking back at the pregnancy test. "You're seriously pregnant?" He asked. "Why, are you not excited?" She frowned.
"What? No, no, no," he says. "Of course, I'm excited, baby," he said giving her a hug. "We're gonna have a child. A son or daughter," he smiled. She exhaled. "I really was scared cause I didn't know how you'll react," she said.
"Well, know I'm excited about this. I love you," he kisses her lips. She smiled back, leaning her head on his chest. "I love you, too."
