A lot of new followers get confused as to whether they should consider themselves 'Wiccan' or a 'witch'.
Wiccan says that you follow the belief system. You pray to the Goddess and celebrate holidays but don't necessarily perform the rituals and spells.
Witch means the opposite. You practice the craft but don't necessarily follow the religion.
A Wiccan does not have to be a witch and a witch does not have to be a Wiccan.
They are commonly practiced together though.
Oh! And...
These terms are not just for women!
Men can be Wiccan and/or witches too!!!
In fact, the founder of modern Wicca was a man named Gerald Gardner. (I'll talk more about him later)
