Three childhood friends from Tondo worked in the Valleson Department Store. All three were born in Abad Santos Street where they grew up playing together. They studied in the same Rajah Soliman public grade school and the Torres High School in Tondo. Like peas in a pod they were like brothers.
Adrian belonged to a middle class family. His widowed mother managed as a pharmacist their own drug store in the first floor of their building where they lived in the second floor. As an only son Adrian was able to finish his business management course so he got a job after graduation as a sales supervisor.With his recommendation his friends Tim and Melvin got work in the same department store.
Tim was the youngest of three brothers. Their parents worked as Metro Aides or street sweepers. With the help of the whole family he studied in college to be a teacher. He had to stop when his two older brothers got married. With Adrian's help he worked as janitor to save enough to continue his studies.
Melvin was the eldest son of a family of sisters. His father worked as a barangay tanod or village guard while his mother was a market vendor in Divisoria. He was studying criminology because he wanted to be a policemen. But his father got sick so he had to stop studying. Adrian got him a job as a night guard in the Valleson Department Store.
