Nora was thankful that she could work in the Sports Department as her assignment. She found herself in a world where she recognized things. She felt close to her heart not only the games but also the sports gears used in games like the baseball bat and the balls of basketball or baseball.

Nora enjoyed serving her customers who were young boys or girls most of the time. Two young boys who were still in the grade school wanted to join the try-out for the baseball team of their school. They wanted to buy two baseball bats to practice with so they would be chosen as players.

Giving a demonstration of how to hold and use the baseball bat Nora explained her every more. She stopped afraid when she saw a tall man in uniform standing at the doorway. He did not leave even when her two customers left with their baseball bats. He even entered the room to introduce himself to her.

Melvin was the night guard in the store. After the store closed he would start his shift. He was also interested in sports as he played for the basketball team of their barangay in Tondo. Their common interest in sports brought the two close together as they saw each other every day.
