'Kypher! Get up you're late!' My mother screamed. My eyes shot open and I shot out of bed. I quickly got dressed into my school uniform, a white button up shirt, grey shorts and black leather shoes. I looked in the mirror and saw myself. My short brown hair was spiky in a few spots, my face was ready for adventure, my blue eyes were nice and lively, my body was muscly as usual and my tanned skin was rough like I rubbed sand paper on it. I ran to the living room and quickly ate my breakfast. It was dry and tasteless but I was late. I kissed my mum goodbye and ran out the door.

'You forgot your bag!' I heard my mum yell. I stopped and my mum threw the bag at me. I caught it and slung it on my back.

'Thanks mum!' I yelled and ran to school. I got there just before the bell rang, I barged into my classroom and slumped into my chair. I was gasping for air and everyone starred at my in fear.

'Just made it, don't worry.' I said and their faces melted with relief. The teacher cleared her throat and we all glared at her.

'Good morning students. Today we have a new student. Say hello to Thea.' The teacher said while a girl walked into the room. She was a gorgeous young lady, with long brown hair, blue eyes, a pretty face, tanned skin, an athletic body and about a meter sixty in height. She was wearing a white top, blue shorts and black running shoes.

'Hey.' She said in a nervous voice.

'Hello Thea.' The class said.

'Take a seat. There's an empty one next to Kypher.' She said and pointed to me. The girl walked down the aisle of desks and sat next to me. The teacher started talking and I looked at her. She looked over to me and smiled.

'Hi, I'm Kypher.' I said.

'Thea.' She said. I held my hand out and she shook it.

'How old are you?' I asked.

'Seventeen... you?' She asked.

'The same.' I said.

'You know, I think I saw you on the billboard today.' She said.

'Really?' I asked.

'Yeah. It read "this boy is dangerous, stay away until police find him." What'd you do?' She asked.

'Nothing! What could I do? I don't even know how to do algebra.' I said and she giggled. The bell rang and we got up.

'You coming to combat class?' I asked.

'Uh... sure.' She said. I walked out of the home room and walked to the gym, Thea following me.

'What do you do in combat class?' She asked.

'You learn to survive in life and death situations.' I said whilst entering the gym. We walked to the teacher and he bowed.

'Kypher! My most talented student!' He yelled with his arms open in the air.

'Hello master. Is it alright if Thea stays in this class with me?' I asked.

'I dunno Kypher. This class is quite full.' He mumbled.

'Come on master! Only one more person can't hurt.' I begged.

'Alright fine.' He sighed and I smiled.

'Thank you.' I said and bowed. We walked to the side of the gym and I walked towards the wooden mannequin.

'What do we do here?' She asked.

'First, we use your survival instincts.' I said. I pushed her next to the wooden mannequin and waited. The mannequin came to life and started punching at Thea. She just dodged three punches and started fighting back. She fought for three minutes until the mannequin stopped moving. She stepped back and then fell to her knees.
