I opened my eyes and looked around, I was in an empty white room, alone. I heard footsteps and turned around. A black man wearing a white tuxedo walked up to me and smiled. He had short black hair, brown eyes, was my height and his teeth were bright. He had a watch on his left hand and looked at it.
'Kypher, your time isn't up. Neither is Scarlett's, although her time is running out. Your time is yet to come, wake up.' He said. I gasped for air, opened my eyes and looked down, the swords were still in my chest and Scarlett was still hanging on the window. I tried to cover my hands in fire but I was too weak. I pushed my hands up, trying to rip off the titanium. I broke the titanium cuffs and yelled in pain. I looked at my wrists and they were cut from the cuffs. I grabbed one sword with both of my hands and started pulling it out. After a minute it ripped out of my chest and I yelled in pain and gasped for air. I grabbed the other, pulled it out and threw them both away. I got up and fell flat on my face.
'Gotta... help... Scarlett.' I mumbled and got back up. I stumbled my way into the house and walked up the stairs. I fell next to Scarlett and noticed a piece of glass was coming out of her back. I stood up, lifted her off and laid her down on the floor before I fell next to her. I coughed up blood and she turned her head to me. She opened her eyes and smiled.
'How's it going?' She said in pain and I chuckled a little before coughing out more blood.
'Yeah alright.' I said and she looked at the roof. I shot a small fireball and the roof above her disappeared, the light shined on her and she smiled again.
'It feels good to feel the sun before death.' She said and birds started tweeting.
'It's so peaceful without The Framer or his boss. Swear to me... sweat to me you will kill him.' She said and I nodded.
'I will.' I said and she closed her eyes. I got up and looked at the floor, the spot where I was laying had a pool of blood there. I felt weak, when is my chest going to heal? Maybe the swords killed the Sage healing factor. I walked downstairs and wondered where Thea was. I walked around until I saw Thea's body near the stairs. I walked to her and kneeled next to her. She was already dead. I picked Thea up, carried her with me then picked up Scarlett. I carried them over my shoulders and walked to the road. I stuck my thumb out and waited until a car pulled over next to me. I looked at my reflection in their mirror. My head was cracked and bleeding, cut covered my chest and I was covered in blood. The driver looked at me and cleared his throat.
'So... where do you wanna go?' He asked in a thick Russian accent.
'In a village, just drive until I say stop.' I said and nodded.
'Get in.' He said. I climbed into the back seat, I rested Thea and Scarlett on the seats while I sat on the floor. The driver had short brown hair, blue eyes and a rugged face with a thin beard.
'So... how old are you?' He asked.
'Eighteen now.' I said.
'What happened to you?' He asked.
'I was fighting a wanted criminal for personal reasons and he was too strong for me... and them.' I said.
'Is this The Framer?' He asked.
'I killed The Framer, his boss was who killed the girls.' I said.
'He killed my family when I was a boy. I'm surprised you're not dead.' He said and I looked out the window.
'Stop.' I said and he stopped. I got out and put Scarlett and Thea on my shoulder. The driver got out and followed me. I set them next to Orion's grave and the driver got me two coffins. I made the dirt disappear, put the coffins in and place the girls in there coffins. The gravestones were the same except it said their names instead of Orion. I clenched my fists and turned to the car.
'You're a Sage.' He said calmly.
'Yeah.' I mumbled. He held a fire in his hand and extinguished it.
'I could train you to kill him if you want.' He offered.
'Maybe later, right now I’m going to clear my head and try kill him again by myself.' I said.
'OK, my number is...' He told me his number, I wrote it on a napkin he had and stuck it in my pocket. He walked to his car and drove away. I climbed up the tree and sat on the first branch that could support me. I clenched my fists and yelled out.
'Damn you! When I find you I’m gonna rip your head off!' I yelled and punched the tree.
'Prove it.' I heard a familiar voice say and I jumped off the tree. The Framer's boss stood in the middle of the road. I walked to him and stood in front of him. He looked down to me and chuckled.
'I'm surprised you're not dead.' He said.
'Me too.' I said and I felt my cuts heal. I then heard Orion's voice in my head.
'Emotion is a key use for Sages. Especially anger.' Orion's voice said and I clenched my fists. I felt my body heat up and my blood boiled with rage. I felt blood drip down my hand from my palm, I pulled my arm back and punched him as hard as I could in the chest. He stepped back and gasped for air. I jumped and punched his cheek. He stumbled and fell to the floor. I threw a fireball and he flew backwards. I raised a wall of stone and he crashed into it. I walked to him, picked him up off the floor, grabbed his head and pushed it into the stone wall. I kept hitting his face in the wall and I heard lots of cracks. I yelled and pushed his head in the wall until he broke through it. I lowered the wall and stood next to him while he was on the floor. I covered my fists in electricity and I started punching his face over and over, hearing more cracks. All my pent up aggression from my mum not buying me a toy when I was four, not having chocolate before dinner when I was six to when he killed all my friends. I picked him up and threw him as high as I could. I pulled out the knives in my boots and threw them in the air, they stuck into his back as he was falling back down. I threw my hand towards the floor and he started falling faster. He hit the floor and made a crater. I ran to him and he coughed.
'You're still alive?' I asked.
'Just.' He said. I grabbed his hair and made the concrete in front of him into a sharp knife made of steel. I pushed his head into it, the knife went through his eye and he yelled in pain. I pulled him away and stabbed his other eye. I dropped him on the floor and broke the knife off. I knelled down to him and started stabbing him in the forehead over and over. He was dead for sure but I kept going. I put the knife in his neck and cut off his head. I jumped into the air, charged a ball of electricity, fire, air, water and earth and shot it to him. It flew down and when it hit him it created a huge explosion. The town just out of the explosion. I landed and fell to my knees. That adrenaline rush kept me up but I used way too much power. I pulled out Orion's phone and called the Russian driver. I told him to pick me up from the village and take me back to the city. We drove in and the Deputies instantly pointed guns to me.
'Don't shoot. This boy has saved your whole city.' The Russian said and the Deputies lowered their guns.
'Artyom? This boy is a Sage and killed Codern.' One Deputy said.
'No, he was shot from a distance, I needed him alive.' I said and they nodded.
'That makes sense I guess since you didn't move before he died. Artyom, maybe he should join the Deputies.' One guard said.
'It would be good to have another Sage, especially with his power protecting the cities of Alamour.' Artyom said.
'Alright I’ll join. But I need to process everything that happened.' I said and started walking away. I walked to my old house, got a suitcase and started packing clothes. Just duplicates of my pants and shirts. I picked up my suitcase and walked out of the city. I didn't know where I was going but I just walked, hoping to find a peaceful place in all this mess.
